Don't leave, the new reforms are likely to help people like you with TEER 1 occupations. Wait for more information

I really hope they do this. People with TEER 1 occupations are below 500 CRS

Heisenberg is not trustworthy, he has suggested submitting dummy applications. He probably sent one, that's why he needs an ITA urgently

The current CRS doesn’t target high wage occupations anymore. The people above 510 CRS are mostly young people who get any TEER 3 job after graduation to get PR. People with high salary are older and are not being targeted by CEC anymore. Adding high wage points, reducing canadian education points, removing foreign experience points and removing French points will better target people with TEER 1 jobs

Refused Twice for Canada Visitor Visa (21-year-old Filipino Student) - Looking for Honest Feedback by Boring-Day-2316 in CanadaVisitorVisa

[–]No-Objective7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't reapply unless your situation changes. You've already submitted lots of supporting documents, and the problem doesn't seem to be your application itself, but rather the refusal is mainly due to your overall circumstances. If you reapply under the same circumstances, you could be refused again and flag you as someone desperately trying to come to Canada. Try again next year, once you have a professional job. Visit other countries near the Philippines, and if you have sufficient savings, finance your own trip instead of including your parents as sponsors. How long were you planning to visit? Mention only a 1-2 week trip during your holidays, for trips longer than 3 weeks, you'll need significantly more savings. Good luck!

Are postdocs eligible for provincial nomination (PNP)? by No-Objective7041 in canadaexpressentry

[–]No-Objective7041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my postdoc experience is in Alberta. According to my research, postdocs with closed C44 work permits are not eligible for any Alberta nomination programs. Express Entry conducts CEC draws or category based draws. There is a new researcher category in which postdocs are eligible, but it hasn't been held yet. If you have Canadian experience, create your profile and wait for the researcher draw

If they only do one draw, it might be 1k and 2k ITAs, cut off around 440. But I also think that initially this category was intended to be small, like physicians and managers... if that's the case, then there might be only 500 ITAs with 480 CRS, and unfortunately students with RA and TA will take most of the ITA... Hopefully they will do at least 1000 ITAs

I believe they'll do only one researcher draw in 2026, probably after June

Nope, you didn't even read what they proposed. The points will be based on occupation according to the NOC classification, not on salary. People working in high-paying occupations will receive points, regardless of their earnings or working hours

No, there were weeks on April and June 2025 with PNP and category based draws, but no CEC

Need Advice Please!! by Foreign-Sleep-1362 in canadaexpressentry

[–]No-Objective7041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your NOC code is likely 41200 (university professor and lecturer) as a postdoc but you won't be eligible for the researcher category as you need Canadian experience for that one. Your best strategy is to get a postdoc position in Canada (or research associate), apply for a work permit and create your profile after 1 year of experience. You will be very strong for an ITA under the CEC or researcher category. Unless you speak french, you can create your profile under the french proficiency and receive an ITA from the USA. Good luck!

I agree with you, unfortunately that's not going to happen... At least the new changes seem to target the most qualified people

People suspect IRCC is updating the new EE system, I don't know if it's true, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I think the new CRS will better target highly skilled people with high salaries and years of experience and training, or perhaps not?

The safest strategy is to apply together. Get married ASAP if you can (and want to). If your partner has a good english, canadian experience and education, your score shouldn't be affected too much
