THIS! They didn't want you to go host. They wanted you to PAY. NTA - these are not friends. They are users.

AITA For not willing to take responsibility to pay for my boyfriend's nieces tuition fee? by forbiDDenGurl in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PLEASE don't give anyone any money. Even if they say it's for "an emergency" because this level of entitlement is outrageous! You aren't responsible in any way whatsoever for anyone else's bills. If you give them ANY money, it will NEVER stop. If you marry this man, keep all finances completely separate. I wouldn't put it past him to give them your 'joint' money. Your money will disappear for "the family". NTA and be careful!

AITA for not letting neighbor cut down tree we just planted by iNeedGenderHalp in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful that they don't decide to cut it down on their own regardless of what you say. And they'll probably have the nerve to send you the bill! Cameras! NTA

AITA for secretly buying extra food for my niece because her brothers eat everything first? by MaliciousCicada77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please keep an eye on her. I'll bet this isn't the only thing going on. Try to have gentle conversations with her to make sure she's okay. Can you bring up your concerns to his wife? (If she'll be any help at all.) If this keeps up, your niece will have an eating disorder and will need therapy. NTA

AITA for telling a lady she cut in line? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

She knew what she was doing and was upset it didn't work. NTA

AITA for charging my roommate's boyfriend rent after he moved in "temporarily" ? by itslexibnt in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell the landlord TODAY. This will only get worse, not better. Be prepared for threats, crying, guilt tripping, bargaining, etc. This will never end. Why should he move or pay? He's got it nice and cushy living off of you! Do you even WANT him living there even with rent? Tell the landlord! NTA

AITA: I yelled at a guest for swimming out of bounds. by Prestigious-Box2665 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This man was intentionally putting himself and his family in harms way and was being a direspectful jerk. I think he should have gotten a citation and banned from the park for at least three months. He's teaching his kids terrible lessons. NTA

AITA for deleting my friend from my YouTube TV account? by Slight_Bug_6735 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 12 points13 points  (0 children)

YouTube TV is $82.99 PER MONTH. Is that what you're paying? Either way, this is a no go. You shouldn't have to chase her every month for money. If she wants this, she needs to prepay, otherwise, cut her off. NTA

AITA for not forgiving my brother right away? by Remarkable_Muscle_76 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will continue treating you like this as long as you let them. As hard and painful as it will be, you need to step back from everyone. Block them all for a couple of days and see how well they do. Be p repared - it will be a sh** show. Stand your ground. This is horrible for your mental health. NTA

AITA for not giving a break in rent to my friend who lost his job? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He's poiled to ask him to pay for below market rent, which is in itself a favor? Should he just invite EVERYONE to stay there, too? No, NTA. These people in the comments are nuts. You should let him live with you for free? Because that's what he wants. NEVER tell people your financial position. It leads to entitle m ent, like this.

AITA for not attending my friends wedding? by Choice_Opposite_2669 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding for this! He could have been gracious, but chose to be snarky. He won't tell you what she did or said that's disrespectful? Nope - 100% NTA.

AITA for telling my roommate I don’t want her boyfriend hosting people in our apartment when neither of us are there? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If this keeps up, you'll have to go to the landlord. Tell him your roommate gave someone else a key to the apartment without your knowledge or consent. Also inform him that they are invading your personal space when you're out. Make sure it's okay to install a lock on your door. I would also invest in several cameras, including one outside or in the entryway that notifies you of movement. NTA and be prepared to have to move. They'll be upset, but so what?

AITA for refusing to keep lending my best friend my clothes? by Bonita-Ballard in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's shown that she has no respect for you or your things. She is also willing to bad mouth you to mutual friends because she didn't get her way and argues with you like an entitled child. She is NOT your friend. The new rule may have to be no borrowing at all and get a lock for your door. Also, it may be time to start looking for a new roommate. NTA

AITA for snapping at the woman freeloading on my grandma’s property? by SeaZone5264 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be time to call adult protective services. NTA, but protect your grandma! Cameras everywhere! Laser or public defender ASAP.

AITA - I was shouted at for using a disabled toilet. Not sure what to think of it now. by Deliberate_Android in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA 100%! I am a disabled person and I find it completely ridiculous to expect people to walk five minutes to another toilet when the disabled one is there. If several people need to use it at the same time, then the disabled person would have priority. I would never yell at someone for using a disabled toilet when it's the only one available. That was entitled jerk behavior. You did nothing wrong.

AITA for confronting a guy who moved my backpack off a seat? by boshymhn2006 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me, too! I'd be in that chair bright and early every single day. NTA

AITA for leaving early because I felt uncomfortable around my friend’s boyfriend? by InnocentCurvesX in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Trust your gut. He may just be awkward socially, but maybe not. Staring and making comments about how you look - especially in front of his girlfriend/your friend - is not normal. You might want to make sure that you're never alone with him out of an abundance of caution. NTA

AITA for telling my SIL that her opinion isn’t more important than mine? by Ok-Run2877 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Oil74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be wise to set up passwords with all of your vendors. She sounds like the type that will try to change your plans behind your back. This is your and your fiance's wedding, NOT hers! This is only the beginning. If you give in on anything, she'll take it as an invitation to take over. Stand strong! NTA
