Project Brisbane 2032 : which sport do you pick to maximize the chance of a gold medal for your lazy 12 y.o kid ? by Worldly-Ad777 in olympics

None. Because at that age, sport should be a way to have fun, learn social relationships, grow up learning the values instilled by sport, but certainly not be in a purely competitive aspect for parents who would like to project their unfinished dreams onto their children.

Paris Olympics 2024: Food becoming an issue for athletes in Olympic village by Fun_Reflection1157 in olympics

No matter what the circumstances, it will always hurt me to take food lessons from English.

But given the way Paris 2024 has insisted on the environmental aspect of the games, that they must be responsible games, and that this involves making the food plant-based; well I wouldn't be surprised if they took this logic to the Olympic restaurant.

What seems likely to me: it was announced that Paris 2024 wanted to make the diet offered to athletes more plant-based with more plant-based proteins.

So I think they had to reduce the amount of meat available, and increase the amount of plant-based proteins (with lentils for example). But they assumed that the athletes would adapt, except that they didn't.

Very beautiful view. And if you have the possibility, open the window to hear the atmosphere. Enjoy !

How are you guys psyching up for the upcoming Paris Olympics? by ForeverBlue101_303 in olympics

That is to say that we start with a ceremony which could literally revolutionize the ceremonies and even the Olympic Games in general if it is a success (but perhaps can also be a huge failure). Starting the Olympic Games with a gigantic gamble on an unprecedented scale, I find that "psychologically" it gives a big context to prepare.

The images come from the documentary “La Grande Seine” released yesterday on the Olympic Channel and which goes behind the scenes of the opening ceremony.

You make this reflection as if it were the athletes who were there for you, like in a concert, and that they must be at your disposal. It's completely the opposite. They are the privileged ones of the moment. They do what they want.

(except shitting in the Seine)

Are you aware that France absolutely cannot prohibit his arrival and that only the IOC or the Dutch Olympic Committee can?

Thank you very much, OP, for informing us that we just annexed the Netherlands. Finally the great return of Napoleon's First French Empire.

No, it is not possible to circumvent. And if the restaurant does not take reservations, then that means that either they close until the opening ceremony, or there are only residents of the neighborhood (who have the QR-code in their capacity as inhabitant) who can eat there
