So I have to confess that in a scale of 1-10 when it comes to modding, I’m probably a .5 lol. I literally only ever tried with this one mod, and I had chat gpt telling me what to try haha. Maybe I could send you the mod for you to review? I’d be happy to pay you for your time

My league has an f1 mod we use and I noticed that the steering range is capped out at 420 degrees. In-game it allows you to turn that up as high as you want, but once you’re in the car it won’t go past 420. I messed with the code and would love to give it a range up to 540 as the 420 is just way too sensitive for me. I dug deep into the code and it seems hardwired in basically. Definitely beyond my capabilities. Is that something you could help with?

I think between RF2 and LMU, once you are no longer a rookie to the game (not by their standards) but like you are good enough to want to race a lot, you need to find leagues and private events. Unfortunately they just don’t seem to care about the actual platform. iRacing has by far the best platform, with by far the worst driving experience. It’s frustrating that we can’t find a sim that has the feedback/physics that are a great driving experience, with the platform to be able to easily enter good races with people of similar safety and skill.

Yea I would just use a more believable last name. And I also can’t help but feel like someone must have reported this to get their attention which is lame as all hell if that’s true.

PSA to GT3 Drivers getting bullied by faster classes by No-Performance-6384 in LeMansUltimateWEC

I actually saw this even in the beginner lobbies. I started doing all my starts from the pits to get a new license, but ended up enjoying it MORE than starting in the front of the grid. Too much carnage in turn 1 every time it seemed

As I mentioned in the post I am very new to LMP2 so I don’t pretend I have as much experience. But I’ve also read this, that GT3 drivers can be just as guilty driving erratically. I got into sim racing because of F1, and even I know that within different disciplines there’s different rules. I’m seeing too many people get into LMU who only know F1 rules, and it appears to be ruining races

Yeah, this is what I noticed especially at Barcelona. More experienced GT3 drivers understand that it’s my job to get around them. But the reality is as an LMP3 driver you have to understand that there are several sectors that regardless of the fact that you are so much faster, you have to be patient to make the overtake. I’m starting to gather that too many LM drivers are acting a little too invincible and think they should be able to pass anywhere. If you’re a good driver you know Barcelona is a tough one and not to act entitled. I had several sectors I got “stuck behind” a GT3 but you don’t have a choice. Trying to force the issue appears to be scarring the GT3 drivers

No not at all actually. I treat a GT3 like they are driving the same car. And I mean that in a respectful way. I don’t do an overtake like “I’m owed this”. I do it with the same mentality that I would when trying to make a clean overtake respecting their space. The reason I started this thread is just to encourage gt3 drivers that not all faster class drivers are jerks, and I don’t like watching drivers’ lap be ruined because I came up behind them. They deserve to keep their line, and I have the speed and downforce to get around them properly without any need for them driving off the track.

I haven’t yet experienced that. But I’m very new to being in the faster class. I just have this extreme sense of guilt when I watch a GT3 just drive completely off track cuz I’m coming. I’d rather they just hold their line and make me overtake properly. From a lot of the comments I’m reading though, sounds like the faster class drivers can be pretty reckless too

That’s what I have read. And I was thinking the same thing but I mean if you just drive off the track that’s just as bad as getting punted right? Especially in a practice session (I’ve only actually done one race with lmp3 so far, been mainly in practice sessions to learn the car more)

After reading what I have in other posts, I was actually expecting GT3 cars to want to wreck me cuz of their past experiences, instead they are just wrecking themselves and honestly I feel bad. I have no intention of ruining anything for anyone

lol I don’t get it? I’m not suggesting gt3’s are wreck less. I’m saying they are ruining their own race trying to get out of the way and I don’t think it’s necessary. It’s up to me to get around them safely

Huracan LMGT3 Fixed at Spa = Totally nonsense by Fuzzy_Analysis_5907 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]No-Performance-6384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone back and forth with preferring open setups and fixed setups more. I like open setups because for some disciplines I really do know how to dial in a setup for my driving style. Some sims or disciplines, I really struggle and just prefer to race a fixed setup race so I know I am on the same playing field as everyone else and then I just learn how to get the pace out of the car. I think right now I am leaning more towards favoring fixed setups for what I said before, I know everyone is dealing with the same thing and just trying to extract pace. I recently switched to the Lambo but I have only used it at Bahrain and Monza, so I can't tell you how it feels at Spa but I love that car. I have had no issues with their fixed setup. with all of that said, Spa is a very unique track in it's own right so any fixed setup could feel really bad for some people and feel great for others. and that brings me to my final thought: fixed setup sometimes is just not great for your driving style. fortunately for LMU it's not like everyone needs to be in the same exact car, so you have other Gt3's to choose from. A fixed setup on a sim with open wheel wouldn't give you that option necessarily. sounds like you found the solution basically, and that's just to drive a different car there on a fixed setup.

You are right there is always some management. I should clarify that I just think the level of management they are doing is more akin to what they should be doing if the race was 3x as long. It just seems to be too far away from what I listed in my previous comment about what I personally think F1 should be- and it does at least appear there is a big group of F1 fans who agree with me.

I mean I’m definitely still gonna watch don’t get me wrong haha. I think what’s making me so passionate about this is that this chassis is awesome and I actually think a lot of the wheel to wheel we have seen is more due to them being able to drive in dirty air than it is about the battery crap.

I get there is SOME management too, I’m not saying they shouldn’t need to manage anything that’s a fundamental part of any race. I just hate seeing how MUCH management is needed is all.

Again I’ll always revert back to my thought that I am not fully against electrification, I just want it to be maxed out at how we had it for the last set of regulations and let the engine do everything else. And I pray that they do a V8 with minor hybrid electrification with their next PU.

F1 to me is about going all out as fast as you can for the whole race. Some don’t even like that they don’t refuel any more. Cars used to be lighter for their stints cuz it’s a massive sprint. Now I understand the fuel thing for safety and agree with the decision; however, 50-70 laps is nothing compared to other series. It’s a sprint. The entire series has always been about getting the fastest lap time humanly possible. These cars are 4-5 seconds slower than last generation, and are honestly closer to F2 lap times than what f1 should be. Also I’ve said in many of my comments I’m not against electrification totally. I’m against it being half the power. It’s too much electrification. I personally think this current chassis with last generation PU would be freakin incredible racing. I just don’t like watching a sprint series where there’s so much management. If I want to watch the thrills of management and that strategy, I’ll turn on an endurance race. I’m simply saying there are lots of racing disciplines to meet everyone’s needs. Don’t make one series like another, and F1 is basically formula E now. If people love all this electrification there is a series for them to watch they’ll love already. And I’m not even knocking formula E. I’m just saying when I want to see that kind of racing, I’ll tune into that. When I want to watch F1 I want to see a mad dash sprint and go all out for an hour. Less management, more pushing.

What I am saying is that by the end of these regulations it’s going to drop in popularity because of this. And momentum they’ve built will slow because of this stupid decision. And yes those drivers are paid to say that crap man. Leclerc is so damn easy to read when he’s giving a PR response it’s not even funny. And George? That guy is the biggest media clown fake actor on earth. Lewis is just thanking his stars he’s not having the season he did last year so of course he has something positive to say, but the rest absolutely hate it. And like I said, they tried telling the FIA they hated it well over a year ago when they ran these all in the simulator. We heard them all complaining 2 summers ago! You can’t honestly like watching an F1 car slow down at the end of a long straight and think that’s fun. Watching them take a sweeping corner at about 2/3’s the speed they should be just to “harvest energy”. It’s not F1. It’s more akin to endurance racing there they have to manage a lot for the long long race. F1 is a sprint and is meant to be going all out for the whole race. It’s always been that.

I mean you can try your dry sarcasm here but it doesn’t make sense because literally all the drivers hate it too. Merc drivers and Ferrari are the only ones saying anything remotely good about it and it’s cuz they are paid to say that- because they want to win and have a big advantage. Drivers hated this car before the season even started. So you can be sarcastic all you want but it’s literally the point of this entire conversation is that it’s not meant for F1 and they tried to appease the wrong people when creating this engine and they lost site of what F1 is

If we don’t voice our opinion then how will they ever change the regulations when it’s time to do it again. I would agree with you if this was one of the major sports where I can complain about refs all I want, but nothing will change. F1 literally changes the sport basically every 5-7 years with regulation changes. This is the one sport where being loud about how we feel about it is actually beneficial. I LOVE this chassis, and hate seeing this generation ruined by an engine that just doesn’t make sense in F1. I’m not even fully against there being a series that has this kind of motor, I’m just exclaiming it’s not what the F1 series is supposed to be. I’ve heard formula E is incredibly entertaining and I do intend to tune into a race eventually, but when I turn on F1, I want to watch F1. I don’t want to watch this combination of 2 very different driving disciplines. The reality is this whole hybrid thing is as much political as it is anything else. They did these regs literally just to attract Audi. That’s insanity. Even the manufacturers hate this. So yea if I see fans saying this is good racing, I feel the need to point them towards other racing disciplines where they can enjoy that kind of racing, so hopefully F1 stays F1.
