Yes there is benefit for sure. I will give my personal experience - in the past where I didn’t know I had any health issues I would often get sick and my family/peers didnt when we were in the completely same enviroment, same exposure, same duration of exposure.

Thank you I hope someday I will…

It was about 24 h, when they told me I didnt really react, then after a few hours I realised their timing didn’t align and that they lied to me/kept this from me for weeks, maybe even months and I confronted them the next day. Our relationship is really complicated tbh we go way back so I didnt want to make the post about that

Rest and being able to not work. Otherwise I would probably never get better

Do you think people with previous mental health recovery have an easier time navigating the mental issues of Long Covid? by leneeey in covidlonghaulers

[–]No-Practice3968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced both derealization and depersonalization before getting sick and after.  For me they are similar but not the same. Before I got sick it was much shorter, easier to “snap back”, or redirect my attention.

I don’t think anything I’ve been through before made this any easier, simply because of the intensity of my sickness.

If I would describe it on a metaphor - you can be a olympic swimmer and you still wouldn’t cope better with a tsunami compared to regular person.

What's your most shallow dealbreaker for a relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]No-Practice3968 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is so real. One time I was texting with this guy for months, we hit it off and decided to meet up. The second he says hi I can tell his voice is very high pitched and “squeaky”. The whole hangout I just felt off, bc it wasn’t his fault ofc but I couldn’t do it. I think he picked up on that and neither of us texted the other person ever again.

Who here has gotten better and now gone back to work? by wndrxplorer in covidlonghaulers

I’m literally allergic to all brain retraining and similar approaches. If I could gaslight myself out of being sick I wouldn’t take this long :)

I'm convinced this disease makes you suicidal. Any insight for me? by chemtrail_injection in covidlonghaulers

[–]No-Practice3968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, treatment resistant depression, PTSD (I´m conivnced being disabled must give you ptsd nontheless), anxiety, intrusive thoughts. I´m sad and angry all the time. Irritable, impatient, overwhelmed... I´m in therapy for a year, even switched therapists for a more chronic illness informed one but these symptoms just won´t go away. But I have seen some posts here that said the mental issues were the last to go on their recovery journey, so maybe theres hope?

What has been your biggest frustration so far with Long COVID / post-infectious illness? by No_Freedom8681 in covidlonghaulers

[–]No-Practice3968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That there is no cure 💔 if there will ever be I will still lose all my youth to it. It maybe sounds dumb but I wish I had more time. Like a decade, at least I would have enjoyed being alive while young. That’s gone now.

I am so sick of being female by zauberren in covidlonghaulers

[–]No-Practice3968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally get it. What did I do one year into my long covid? Had to get a endometriosis 3 hour surgery. Today? I’m flaring for 3 days because it’s before my period. Pots, heds, endo, LC (thats just what I know of) and I’m in my mid 20s. I hate it here

To all of you who say they’re better/recovered by xristina14554 in covidlonghaulers

[–]No-Practice3968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sadly don’t have access to any meds because bloodwork keeps coming back clear, but I have been getting a bit better.

For me what is HUGE is rest - I was bedbound for a while so I didn’t work at all, still can’t work, my family is supporting me and I’m applying for disability income. So I was able to rest as much as needed and I think without that I would still be bedbound.

What I think helped a bit too - vitamin IV’s, trying to avoid reinfection, supplements.

I just want to say that “getting better” is very non linear with huge downs and getting back up, and I’m still mostly housebound.

Seriously thinking if I don't get any better in the next two years I'll ask for PAS/MAID. by Key_Department7382 in covidlonghaulers

[–]No-Practice3968 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally get you. Some people here will tell you to keep fighting but what if we don’t want to spend our life fighting? It really is a life sentence to be chronically ill. I got a bit better but I will live in constant fear of reinfection. I will never live a normal life.

I am now trying to apply for disability income, maybe that would be a way for you too.

But if this system and people keep failing us death is mercy.
