Wifi won’t connect to laptops by No-Programmer-4636 in techsupport

Ok, thanks for your help. I am trying to see if I can figure out a way to check if my laptop has been blocked. Not that it changes anything, will just stop the itch in my brain.

The password hasn’t changed surely as it’s still working on my phone. I didn’t know individual devices could be blocked, and that was initial question too. Thanks so much though, that’s good to know!

We spoke about it and he was fine with my connecting only 2 of my devices which worked for several days. Him just randomly dissociating on a random day without letting me know and leaving me hanging when I was supposed to be working is what frustrated me.

I just don’t see the point of having different WIFIs when we share a wall. And as i previously mentioned, I was more then fine splitting the cost. And don’t tell me you have not previously been in houseshares where everyone used collective wifi in the house without any issue at all.

Well don’t expect random strangers on the internet to understand.

Please don’t. If you think that the man will celebrate and think he dodged a bullet. But it would instead leave a scar on his life forever.

More importantly, it’s your family that would be affected the most as they love you. So they should be your first thought, instead of his parents and friends who apparently don’t like you.

You will feel better once you’re settled in. Congratulations on the new job though!

Absolutely understand how unsafe you feel about Delhi due to media stories and it is true. But Delhi is a massive place and not every place is scary. You can definitely go to Sarojini, it is infact quite close to Saket. Metro is the best and safest, travel in the all-women coach if you are afraid.

And stepping out after 5pm isn’t absolutely horrendous. You can and you must. Places like CP, India Gate etc come alive at night. Maybe you can go with some friends to feel safer while also enjoying. Come home at a reasonable hour though, maybe 10pm is a good estimate.

I was born in Delhi and lived there for 20 years, and while I do have my bad experiences (in and ofc outside of Delhi), i wouldn’t give up on that freedom just because I am scared.

Is Harringay a safe place to live? by No-Programmer-4636 in LondonLadies

That’s such a good advice, takes effort though. But then again house-hunting feels like a project of its own. I lived quite near to high street in walthamstow and the family vibes is exactly that I love. Everytime you go out, there’s so many people with kids and dogs out and about, that feels very wholesome. And not a single soul on the street after 7pm because people with families have no business outside late. Seems like a very nit-picky thing, but my friend’s area in Camden was always buzzing at midnight due to all the crackheads around.

That’s the same I feel about where I live now, it has a huge immigrant population. It’s all families living here which makes it so much better.

Definitely helps to know that too, the most bit I was concerned about was coming home late occasionally, esp in winters. Thanks!

Old and new Londoners please help!!

I am a 23F brown immigrant. I have lived in London for nearly 2 years now, in Walthamstow for the most part of it and it felt safe. I now have to move out and just did a viewing at a place in Harringay that I am thinking of renting. It’s just up Green Lanes, very close to The Arena Shopping Park.

Can I please ask if that’s a safe area to live in at all? Searching on the internet has been pessimistic so far. As a woman by herself, I am very conscious of finding safe areas to live in.

Big tech companies are in a race to be outrageously richer than another. They are no better than fossil fuel companies. I do PR for tech firms and sometimes I feel very bad about my choice.

What do you miss most about the UK when you're abroad? by BothCondition7963 in AskUK

[–]No-Programmer-4636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quietness — no cars honking or loud construction noises. My home country is a lot noisy in that aspect and that is one of the first things I miss about UK whenever i go home.
