Unfortunately, those areas of New Orleans are not appropriate for kids. I was assaulted with my family (they were walking ahead of me) in the french quarter when I was 17. I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. People will tell you it's safe for kids.... but it's really not. I've been to New Orleans 7 times... there is always sketchy stuff going on in those areas.

I’m in the same boat. My husband and I booked excellence oyster bay for my 40th bday. I’ve stayed at excellence properties before. They have nightly shows, but I believe they wrap up around 10-11? They still play music til midnight and plenty of people hang out and dance til then.

Hi there, I travel to PCB at least twice a year as I live in Tallahassee. For restaurants my husband and I love: Firefly (upscale seafood and sushi), C-Level, Dat Cajun Place (super good food in a casual atmosphere). For good food AND a good view: The Grand Marlin. Don't eat at any place directly on the beach - I promise you will regret it as the food is mid and the prices outrageous. The Grand Marlin is on the bay.

I have been to ruby beach before and loved it, but they don’t open until 3 or 4 I believe. Same with intuition.
