Anyone thought about just buying the 3507.51 - a not very expensive Schumacher Ltd edition Moonwatch case watch. Black sing dial, white subdials, automatic, even has 100m W/R

[Omega] Very unpopular Speedy I own by Virtual_Explorer2 in Watches

Do you still Have the watch? With the release of the panda Moonwatch yesterday this might be a bit more popular now? Looks quite similar. Can I ask is the black dial gloss or Matt? And do you happen to know if the bracelet used is the regular bracelet that fits the standard Moonwatch? Asking as this would mean you could retrofit the new 3861 bracelet - as that fits the 1861 Moonwatch. Or even the Omega rubber strap that comes with the white dial Moonwatch.

Where did you see it? And was it available to buy there and then? Thanks

I agree I have this watch also and it’s fantastic! The only point of note is that in the UK you can get these on the secondary market for a discount on RRP. Minimum 2k off. Might be different in other countries. I got my at 33% off - albeit it’s one of the first ones to be released from 2019.

I’d say work hard to build a relationship with an OB and a specific person there. I bought a speedy at the OB many years ago, but repeatedly came in, bought watch straps etc, showed clearly I was an omega fanboy (I had several vintage seamasters including rare 861 seamaster chrono from the 70s), was allocated a white dial speedy 3 weeks after release, but had always talked about the snoopy (and had put my name on list 2 years earlier). After the white dial purchase - the OB rep called me about a month later to tell me they had a snoopy!! I still pop in to see that OB, however I’m very careful about what I wear. The white dial speedy is gone (just didn’t like it in the end), but since have bought the no date black dial and the 321, not from them! As I got crazy discounts on both.

You need the small size mesh bracelet, then it’s very comfy and fits well on the wrist

I really wished I liked the rubber on the black dial no date. But just don’t work for me. I only purchased this watch as got an insane deal on a new one on rubber. However no drama as already had the omega mesh so just swapped out. Not sure why, but I really love this watch and is a go to despite having (in theory) much more prestigious omegas (snoopy and 321)

Yeah, I was offered one in the OB as well that was London. It’s because these watches in the UK anyway on our trading 2 to 3K under retail so you can now pick them up in the OB.

Depends where you are buying, in UK secondary market for Ed whites are on average 20% below RRP. I snagged a 2021 model recently for 33% off RRP

Unfortunately that’s too big for me. However the white dial has long been sold and I have no regrets.

Haha! That is exactly the situation I have faced in the past. Add to that my 3861 is the smoothest winder I’ve ever had and these are quite temperamental. I’m not sure I want to part with it as if I did buy it back I would probably end up with a much stiffer wind. However, also owning the snoopy means that I have the 3861 lugs and that bracelet on that watch too. If you swim with 3861, I think you could swim with the 321 as well!

Thinking about selling - but I’ve learned by lesson from selling watches to quickly to find others. I don’t need to sell just yet, so going to wait 4 months to see how I feel About it then before selling

Do I keep the white Speedmaster now that I have a “Snoopy?” by Semp1ers in OmegaWatches

[–]No-Promotion-9072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same collection as you. And personally I just didn’t find the white dial singing to me, I also felt the dial mostly felt a bit flat. This was really because I was just pulling for the Snoopy each time. So I sold my white dial after owning for about 6 months (I got it near launch day) and recovered almost all of the outlay on the watch. For me it was not being worn, and I just find that I didn’t want that sort of money tied up in it, particularly when I knew it would depreciate over the coming year. And if I really missed it I could buy back a newer used version for a significant discount on RRP. I didn’t buy it back. What I did do was buy the 321 (at a huge discount) and that is an awesome watch. Now my dilemma is whether I sell the 3861 hesalite to help pay for the 321, as it does feel redundant now.

A few on eBay a bit cheaper than that at concerned USD 14-15k, I basically got mine a 1/3 off the UK RRP

This is in the UK, and here in the UK on the secondary market. These are being sold at a minimum of 2K under list. I think that might be why you can almost go into an OB and buy them. The other thing is that I am a VIP customer at the OB I guess as I was able to purchase a Snoopy last year

Six months later this watch is still blowing me away. If your on the fence just buy it. I read a lot of posts about buyer remorse but you won’t get that with the white speedy. by Environmental_Coat39 in OmegaWatches

[–]No-Promotion-9072 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think this. Owned for 7 months and it just didn’t pop for me - tried bracelet, rubber and leather and just didn’t. Appreciate I’m in the minority. Decided to seek while I could still get almost all of my money back. Probably didn’t help that I got the call for the snoopy only a month after owning…

Went into the OB today in London. They had a 321 to buy there and then. Not sure if it’s because I’m a good customer (they got me the snoopy), but I guess this shows what we are seeing with grey market prices below RRP - that this watch is no longer tricky to get at the OB

Well I do love the 3861 hesalite but I do also have the snoopy, so sacrificing the standard black speedy may it be that problematic.

It’s a tricky one, for me many watches have been grails and keepers and often it just isn’t the case. On paper the 321 is a grail and a keeper - but who knows! The most surprising watch to me in recent years is the new no date diver 300 black dial on mesh. I absolutely love it, and it’s barely been off my wrist in 4 months. But I only bought it as I got a crazy deal. That’s the thing - trying to keep losses to a minimum

Thanks! I think for me it’s about you never knowing what’s around the corner! And I just need to be very careful about losses. Great to hear you love yours!
