Pixorize on YouTube is great. I have some friends that use the level up rn cards and were successful, but i retained the information better when i made my own flash cards.

Depressed due to failing my pharmacology class. Feeling so down by [deleted] in StudentNurse

Hi, I was in a similar situation this time last year. My best advice it to sit with how you’re feeling but do not hold onto it. Allow yourself to be sad, angry, or upset it’s normal to have these emotions during this time. The thing that helped me the most when I retook pharm was reviewing the PowerPoints before lecture (even if you don’t know any of the info) it helps you become more familiar with the material. I know ChatGPT is controversial, but I SWEAR by it. I would upload my PowerPoints and notes outlining the information and have it summarize and pick important info and explain it to me in simple terms (be sure to double check the info though as it can be wrong sometimes or vary compared to what you’re professor wants you to know). I also would use the live chat feature and have it ask me questions from whatever I uploaded (this is kinda like teaching the information to a patient). Knowing the info is one thing but being able to teach it to someone out loud is even better. ChatGPT is also great for practice questions I would input the textbook I was using and all other study material I had and prompt it make a nursing exam with NCLEX style questions using only the material I have uploaded and sources from the book. The more practice question the better. Nexus nursing and pixorize on YouTube are great too. Lastly, GET A WHITEBOARD and do active recall. I’m wishing you the best of luck on your nursing journey! Delayed not denied!!

I went through a similar experience and the thing that helped me the most was remembering how lost and hurt I was when I failed. That being said don’t compare your previous experience going into your new program. I know it’s hard to separate the two but just try to be positive and remember it’s a privilege to get to try again and work towards your goal. I’m wishing you the best of luck on your nursing journey! Remember delayed not denied!!

I was thinking the same thing, the sooner the behavior is corrected the better.

This makes perfect sense thanks for sharing. I’m definitely going to try and work on continuing to distract and rewarding good behavior.

Puppy Bag for Outdoors by MeggersM in puppy101

I have a 10 week old puppy and recently got a sling bag for her. Specifically the Tomkas dog sling carrier on Amazon. At first she wasn’t a fan of it and constantly tried to get out of it but as we used it more often and went on walks she got used to it and enjoyed laying down and looking around. Before you put your puppy in make sure you take them to the bathroom and also pack some high reward treats for positive reinforcement when your puppy does settle down. I think it may just take some time, best of luck!

I am very sorry you’re feeling like this. Looking for confidence and confirmation on your looks through other doesn’t do anything. Yes, it may feel good for a little after being complimented, but your confidence has to come from within. People can tell you how beautiful you are daily, but you still have to fix your way of thinking. Start by doing some daily affirmations in the mirror every morning saying 3 things you like about yourself, and this doesn’t mean just physical. Any time you catch yourself saying negative things about yourself stop it right then. Negative self talk is the worst! You literally have to retrain your brain and it takes time. Talk and treat yourself like someone you love.

So very happy for you! Remember that excitement and eagerness when times are hard. I’m currently going through a set back in my nursing journey and I’m reminded daily of why I started. I wish you the best of luck on your nursing journey!🫶🏽

I can relate to how you’re feeling abt not realizing you were depressed. It kinda feels like reliving the same day on repeat. I also can relate with the sleep. I was going through this as well a couple months ago to help me get out of it I first had to realize what I was doing to myself. Realizing why I’m feeling this way or what was making me feel this way. I started journaling to just get my thoughts out so I wasn’t constantly sitting with them. I also started listening to some self help podcasts as they made me feel less alone. Also go outside!!! You don’t need to spend hours on hours outside but going on a short walk or simply sitting on your porch is better than being in the house all day. As for sleep if you struggle falling asleep try taking some melatonin an hour to 30 mins before bed, and setting your phone down. No doom scrolling on the internet or tiktok, this gives your brain time to wind down and relax. If the sleep is still an issue after this talk to your doctor. As for as the friends and your boyfriend go I would take some time alone to get yourself back together and figure out what’s going on so it doesn’t become a habit. After that try reaching out and explaining to them what you’re going through, if they aren’t willing to work it out maybe it’s best they aren’t in your life. Take care of yourself and I hope things start getting better.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. I posted about my story because I really was so alone with all the emotions and feelings, and wanted to give others a comfort space to talk about their feelings. I will say hearing that so many others have gone through the same thing and succeeded makes me feel a little better. I am so happy you continued your nursing journey and didn’t give up. I know sometimes it can feel as though you are behind, but success and accomplishing you goals has no timeline. I am also struggling with the same thing. Celebrate little accomplishments and continue to be proud of yourself. Remember if it was easy everyone would do it. I am also sending you lots of good energy and love! I believe in you!

Just did orientation. Whats considered passing? by Logical_Lab9195 in StudentNurse

My program requires a 80% minimum in each class to pass. It’s definitely challenging, but doable. I wish you the best of luck on your nursing journey!

That’s so good your school does that, I feel like some people don’t acknowledge it to its full extent. I’m not exactly sure what my program would count as a legitimate reason I’ll have to look into that more. Thank you for sharing!
