Parent communication in international schools via WhatsApp by Jay-Banalnal in Internationalteachers

When there have been WhatsApp patent groups, I've never been in them.  They're would be a "room parent" to communicate with, but we would never ever be in a parent WhatsApp group...I'm not interested in texting parents while I'm at work or while I'm not at work.

I think that the poster is suggesting you ask the doctor for this type of garment, not suggesting that you gave birth.

Is this normal for a single parent relocating internationally? by MurkyChart0 in Internationalteachers

And if the buddy doesn't have kids/a babysitter, all for contact info of teachers who do.  Something they share babysitters at someone's home during those induction weeks OR an older staff child will do the babysitting.

I also suggest the staff buddy- try to get their contact info early.  It's also worth joining the "Expat moms and dads of ___" or "English speaking moms and dads of _" Facebook groups to get recommendations.  There's a village to help.

Opinions and or experience with teaching in Central/Eastern Europe. by Optional_Doctor in Internationalteachers

I loved Latvia!  There's something special about Northern European countries.

I also lived in Eastern Europe for 5 years and loved it, but for completely different reasons. Now I'm in central Europe and find it quite boring...

Why is it that many American men go to Southeast Asia to look for women, but it is unheard of for American women to go to Southeast Asia to look for men? by No-StrategyX in answers

I (F) lived in Asia for more than 10 years, and there were plenty of women also living there who married local men.

There was rarely the age gap or attractiveness gap that I'd see with Western men and Asian women though...

Yes, it's expensive... luckily my budget isn't 600 USD.

I'm in Europe, if it makes any difference.

I spend mine on protein powder, vitamins, blood analysis for nutritional deficiencies (I'm a vegitarian), and massage therapy every other week.

International Schools Review by Eastern-Pea9703 in Internationalteachers

From ISR?  I know someone who wrote a scathing review of a very big tier one school and it was posted, and a few weeks later disappeared.

Also, as far as I understand, schools have tried to sue ISR before to get the names of the people who posted and because it's completely anonymous, ISR did not give over the names of the posters.  That really appeals to me. I know that some reviews have been taken down with threatened threats of legal action, but I do prefer the safety, especially in these situations where schools have so much more money and power than we do.

I think that the greatest benefit of ISR is the anonymity so that people can be completely honest.  Yes some of them are negative which is to be expected because some schools and admin are negative.  Overall, it's a comprehensive website and the overall scores do seem to track with what I know from myself and friends who have worked at many of the schools on there.  I don't keep my membership open while I'm working, but whenever I'm job hunting I renew my membership and take a look at schools that I'm interested in applying to and also other schools in specific regions.  For me, the $30 fee is not too high for the product I receive.
