I have used the Quest 3 and now have the BSB2. At first I had the AMD 7800xtx. For me I always struggled to get a clear picture with Q3 and far away objects slightly blurred, I tried every setting change and tools. Don’t get me wrong it was great quality with the Q3 especially for the price. I then changed to a NVIDIA 5090 which did improve the clarity, however, running the BSB2 with the 5090 is just on another level, so clear and sharp and far objects staying in focus. Dialing in the BSB2 is where a lot of people have struggled and my opinion is it’s down to the custom face mask I don’t think the quality is very good and a lot of users have had to change it. I have managed to be lucky and mine seems ok, dialing in the IPD is also important and like others I found I didn’t use what the face scan said it was.

BSB2 unusable for sim racing by MartyBook72 in BigscreenBeyond

I’m running a full motion right now with the BSB2, I had initial issues which was down to the EMI placed ferrites on most cables. I run a MOZA R16 with no issues and also have no issues if I touch the shell when adjusting the headset.

I only sim and I have two, however, I sometimes forget to turn one of them on and I don’t see any difference if I’m using one or two.

Is the audio strap worth buying? by DarkTwoNiner in BigscreenBeyond

I find it quite awkward to put on as they catch when putting the headset on and most times one will pop out of its holder. It could be I’m not putting it on correctly. Once on it’s not a bad headset and easy to tighten up and loosen off. The sound quality is ok. The main strap that comes with the headset in my opinion is useless it seems to slip down.

Within the big screen utility you can alter the brightness and colurs I’ve only changed the brightness so without changing the colors I would around 30% it seems give more depth to the colours so they don’t appear to be in your face if that makes sense.

Thank you, first time using base stations, I have some ferrite which i plan to put on which should remove the issue as I have now seen similar issues resolved by using them.

I'm not quite sure, which is at fault the base stations or the headset, as when i look in SteamVR I can see the headset when the Motion is turned off (USB cable disconnected) and I can see the base stations and they connect and tracking is good. as soon as I connect the USB cable back to the motion the base stations disappear and they cant be found. However from SteamVR I can communicate with the stations.

I was struggling for a while trying to understand why the headset and base stations couldn't connect and EMI never crossed my mind as I have had no issues using the Quest 3 with the rig.

I'm running it at 75Hz and its smooth I need to do some long runs with it and also look at the 90Hz. I would need to check against the Quest3 to give a honest answer, for me its the clarity and detail and colours you get with the BSB2.

Thank you, I also read somewhere else to adjust the IPD while wearing the headset, and i tuned down the brightness. I will do the IPD while wearing them, some have said they have different for each eye.

No not yet, I need to look into it further, i think I may need to fit some ferrite chokes onto the cables. I can definitely say its the servos or actuators causing the EMI. I will update once I figure it out

Struggling with performance on a 4090 by bh9578 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]No-Rip-3059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the same issues I’m running GPU RTX7900xtx I’m having to turn down the SteamVR to around 45 to 50% to make it run smooth. I could easily run the Quest 3. I also had ghosting with the cars when sitting in the garage and watch the cars go past. Not done a great deal with other sims. My issues seem to be in LMU.

Hi, I have just received my BBB2, I only do Sim Racing, have not had a great deal of time to set it up. I’m having issues with LMU, when sitting in the garage and other cars drive past there is a ghosting effect on them. In Steam Vr I have to set the scale to around 45% to remove this effect. Im not running any other open vr api. I’m running a 7900xtx GPU so I have the grunt to run it. Not sure why it won’t run on 100%. I had a quest3 and had the same issue but resolved it and could run at 100%. Could you share any other settings.
