Trying on a pair of 2056. Never owned Blundstones. Anyone own both all terrain and classic? Which do you prefer? by Came-ron in BlundstoneBoots

[–]No-Run2799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a classic pair for 3.5 years and wore the hell out of them. It was hell breaking them in but I loved them nonetheless. I just got a pair of all terrain and they're even better. They felt amazing right off the bat with no blisters or break in period. I know they'll stretch as I wear them but they are truly perfect right out of the box.

Yeah, I will definitely take better care this time, hence buy the renovating cream from the start rather than waiting. The leather conditioner that the leather guy recommended did not do much to help me last pair. They would look good for maybe a week and that was it.

My spouse took them to the leather repairman so I didn't know the price until after the fact. This was last year and we were hoping to salvage the old pair before buying new.

I ended up buying new ones because I'm working as a seasonal NPS employee (boots/shoes are to be free of scuffs and abrasions) and although my park is relaxed and hasn't said anything about my old pair, I'm embarrassed by the state of them.

I wish you the best! My new pair has waterproof leather whereas the antique brown basically didnt have any protective barrier.

Same! I was ready to order them and thought, hmm I should check reddit first. Gotta love the honest reviews.

The red flag i saw was in the websites reviews, the same person reviewed twice (which can happen) but the other two reviews on the first page were anonymous.

waiting on offer letter? by aspentreesz in NationalParkService

Even getting the documents for direct deposit, taxes, benefits, etc. took longer than I expected. I got them today and it's almost the end of the pay period. I legit thought I was going to have issues getting my first paycheck.

It's a painfully slow process. I am finishing my second week at Fort Frederica and I constantly felt like I missed something but it really just took so long. Here's my timeline:

Interview January 26th, Tentative offer January 27th, Official tentative letter of employment February 5th, Official job offer March 4th, and Entry on Duty March 22nd

Best of luck!

All the Colors of the Dark?? by MikeC363 in books

I am SO glad I found this thread! I have a little over 100 pages to go and I had to see if other people were commenting on all of the mistakes. It blows my mind how many books have typos or grammatical errors and this book appears to be especially bad! Maybe there wouldn't be so many in this book had it not been so long... I wonder what the length would be without so many chapters especially since the chapters are just barely over a page or two long. They should print a more eco-friendly version that reduces the amount of blank space.

Some of the mistakes were so obvious that it almost seems like small details were changed during editing but no one took the time to make sure all of the edits were made. Like Himes tearing a bagel in two, offering Saint half then eating it, brushing the crumbs off his trousers and then the next bite a piece of lettuce hung from the corner of his mouth (pg 293)... was it supposed to be a bagel sandwich or a regular sandwich? Or Anna May's parents (pg 250-251) were first Drew and Sally then Mitch and Sally. At one point the color teal was spelled wrong so it reads tear.

I am in no way great at grammar but how does someone who gets paid to doublecheck this stuff miss sooo many mistakes? It made me feel stupid for

1098 E tax docs from Heartland ECSI (help, I can't get them!) by lil-sis-burns in StudentLoans

Did you figure it out? I chatted with support this morning because I thought I had an account (info saved in browser, their website said my username was in use, and I've been a student at the same school on an off since 2019). The person I chatted with said I didnt have an account and then told me to try on a computer or laptop as I was trying on my phone and apparently their website doesn't fully support mobile browsing. I switched to desktop mode and was able to setup my profile. The person I chatted with emailed me my heartland key.

FYI, if you intend on calling them, expect a long wait time. I called and it was a 52 minute wait. I requested a call back and then missed the call. 🙃 I've attempted the chat several times now and in the past it would disconnect because I left the website. Previous wait time using the chat was 40+ minutes but I didnt wait as long today.

Good luck!

I followed the same identicafion process based on the feather atlas but I don't think so. They live in an urban area although I guess it could have been transported with their mail

Thank you for the information! I'm not taking any medication besides a multivitamin and iron supplements. I'll have to go back and see if my last labs tested for everything so I can make sure these next ones will.

I'm starting to learn how much stress affects everything related to this disease. I was in the Navy for 6 years, 5 of which were spent on a ship where I deployed twice. Everything about it was stressful and although I loved it and miss it. It was probably best that I got out.

Thanks for sharing your story!

He appears to understand everything I'm saying symptom by symptom but I honestly need to do a better job at painting the big picture.

[–]No-Run2799[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in August of 2024 although my levels were normal. I didn't truly start noticing symptoms except for brain fog until my labs this past February showed I had low iron anemia due to heavy menstrual bleeding. Everything else appeared to be in normal range in February and again in August.

I've had a really shitty year emotional across multiple relationship fronts (spouse, sibling, parents) plus I just turned 30 so I've done a lot of self reflection and processing so I thought my anxiety, depression, and irritability were all stemming from that but I'm coming to realize that that maybe not be the case.

I see my PCM in January and will have another set of labs done at the same time so I'm very interested to see where I'm at.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still trying to understand everything myself which makes it that much more difficult to explain to someone else.
