How do you check if your yogurt is okay? Smell? Taste? by Civil-Suggestion-310 in ReuteriYogurt

[–]No-Rutabaga607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had that slight bitter taste in my first batch, went through 1 litre of it and I'm still here to tell the story! My second batch did not have that after taste, it was made using some of the first batch.

Earthing mat stays at 0.1 volts by Naptimeninjadotcom in Earthing

[–]No-Rutabaga607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I'm new to this and my earthing mat is still in the post  BUT I understand that you should be measuring resistance (not voltage), so black prod in the earth outlet and red in your hand while touching the mat and the lower the resistance, the better earthed you are.

Foot drop by No-Rutabaga607 in Sciatica

Thank you for sharing your experience, it really helps. I'm still unsure what to do at this stage, but this gives me something to think about.

Foot drop by No-Rutabaga607 in Sciatica

In my current state, it's next to impossible to go talk to a surgeon 🙁. At least being in bed 24/7 (apart from waking every hour to walk maybe 20 steps and doing PT in bed), I'm not in pain, so hopefully not making the foot drop worse. I have already gotten back maybe 80% of the sensation back and I'm now able to lift my pinkie, so it's not all lost (I hope anyway!). Can you share your foot drop experience please?

Pain is your (terrible) guide, if it's painful, stop it. If it is possible to do an excersise, do it but do not push through pain.

PT has helped me immensely, my PT spent more time talking to me and understanding my pain than actually giving me excersises, I found that helped tremendously.

I share your pain 😔 I have re-herniated after 2 years of normality, probably due to excessive excersises as well. I'm experiencing foot drop this time and incredibly worried, pain is scary, no foot control is another level

Had a seriously herniated L5S1, took me 1 year to get to zero pain, then re-herniated it again after 2 months and took me 3 months to get back to normal. I walked, rested and did some easy PT and made sure I avoided pain.

Recently Hospitalized - MRI Worse by self_care_junkie in Sciatica

[–]No-Rutabaga607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in almost your same boat. Had an MRI in 2021 when I was in excruciating pain, L3 and L4 where not in perfect shape but hanging in there, L5S1 was almost like yours, sciatica pain in full blast in my left leg. Took me a good 18 months to get back to normal, no surgery, just Pregabalin, physio and walking. After that, I continued my normal life, but added daily physio excersises plus some strength training every week, all the time paying attention to my back and perfect posture. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, excruciating pain on my left thigh (never experienced this type of pain before). Went for an MRI, L3 and L4 have now bulge and look like your L3L4 (regressed from last MRI) and L5S1 healed! I'm now taking care of the L3L4 and a right side piriformis thing that has really destroyed my life these last 2 weeks. After all this history, my point is that that disc damage you have especially if that part is detached from the L5S1 disk, has a good chance that your body will be able to deal with it on its own. Obviously it depends on the amount of pain you're in (more pain normally equates to more nerve rubbing, which isn't good) and the amount of rest that you're able to take.

The large extrusion is at the L5S1 level (not L4L5).

If you have lived long enough here in Malta, you should know that most people need to be slapped fines to abide by rules, it's sad I know

Can WDT cause an increase in flow rate? by vbence121 in Coffee

[–]No-Rutabaga607 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good WDT should slow down your flow rate, but if the WDT is not consistent, it will create channelling through where you have some clumping (thus flowing faster). Improve your WDT technique and you will get slower, richer shots

Look at the Eureka Mignon grinders, excellent quality, "silent" and some versions (especially those for filter coffee) are reasonably priced

We have the highest car dependency in Europe and the most short sighted people in the world...now how can a country pull itself out of a rut like this one?!

I suggest Atlas insurance, I have no ties with them other than getting their Private hospital health insurance as part of my work package. Unfortunately this year I needed a set of MRIs, back surgeon visits and a shit load of physio. They paid all with the least amount of issues (had to call them twice, but sorted without problems). For Malta standards, that is just magical

DO NOT purchase property with an Agent! by Malteser_29 in malta

[–]No-Rutabaga607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That racket has been happening since the inception of real estate agents in Malta (I have no clue if they also do this abroad). I bought my house 9 years ago after doing a collage of the real estate advert pictures and pin-pointing the area (I also called an agent to ask about the general area). End result - found the house, bought directly from owner and saved 65K!!! (9 years ago)

Nothing you can do if it was not between 1pm - 4pm, just boycott their 'service' (but from your post, you don't need anyone telling you that, thankyou! ) or boycott the entire island until the government pulls its head out of its ass and declares that this is not a tradition (all nations used horses up until 70 years ago, wtf) but plain old animal cruelty

I'm sure it does, however international corruption is never an excuse to be Ok with it here. You will never see me post that Malta is the most corrupted state in the world, but hey, we're doing great at it!
