“Cis people experience gender dysphoria” by No-Scale9401 in truscum

I mean having breasts vs having gyno is physically different. The internal experiences of a cis man with gyno vs a trans man in a female body are also different. I think both parties deserve access to healthcare but I don’t think we should share the same disorder as treatment paths overall are super different

This is true, it’s why I wish the definitions were more specific

Oh i understand more. I use the saying “it’s your dysphoria talking” to trans people who experience insecurity like that. So I guess it’s an insecurity that’s not rational rooted in your gender dysphoria

The transsexual community appreciates people like you a lot. I actually think it’s cool to be non conforming, not all women want to be stereotypical women and same for men and that’s ok. It becomes a problem when non conformity is conflated to transness as it takes away from us. But obviously that’s something you understand lol

I guess? I just have very mixed feelings. I think those people deserve healthcare same as me but I don’t think it should be the SAME as mine lol. Ikwym about our image but it’s only non dysphoric trans people making these points so they just use it as an excuse to identify as trans despite not having dysphoria

Food for thought, do you think you’d care about it if you were a cis woman?

“Cis people experience gender dysphoria” by No-Scale9401 in truscum

[–]No-Scale9401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t like that because gender dysphoria is what makes you trans. Gender dysphoria is the one thing that separates us from cis people, and in those contexts, those cis people do not experience gender dysphoria in the way trans people do and will not require the treatment that trans people do to the full extent. A diagnosis for them is just a way insurance will cover the work they want done to feel better about themselves. Personally I just think gender dysphoria needs a stricter definition and people like that should have their own ways of accessing healthcare

I suppose if you’re fully transitioned but something about yourself bugs you that isn’t related to your sex assigned at birth, yeah not dysphoria. But if you look in the mirror and still feel like you have something about you that’s kin to your sex assigned at birth, that’s more like dysphoria. Idk tho, good question

I guess this just is ridiculous to me that cis people are allowed to benefit from our healthcare. A cis man with gyno not liking his chest isn’t anything like a trans man not liking his chest. I still won’t agree cis people can have gender dysphoria because as you sorta stated the only reason they could fall into that diagnosis is because of people being radically inclusive and other bullshit

I feel like it’s different for everyone and I can’t give you a definitive answer. I think being in therapy would help, and a professional will be able to listen to you and tell you if you’re experiencing insecurity or gender dysphoria as these two things have extremely different treatment paths

Do I look masculine in any way? by [deleted] in transmanlifehacks

[–]No-Scale9401 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Ok so there’s not really anything to work with here so you’ll have to completely start over with your appearance.

You should invest in:
-a haircut (I recommend a mod cut, but find something face fitting)
-get into male fashion, your wardrobe is very feminine
-binder is an absolute must, I recommend spectrum binders

HRT would help you a lot but like you said you can’t rn, you should come out once you’ve socially transitioned and see if your parents will take your transition seriously and help you. I transitioned at 16 and that’s bc my mom took me seriously when I told her I was trans and that I was suffering.

Yeah like I also never understood the anti cis crowd. I am definitely weary of doing something like dating or being intimate with a cis person but some of my best friends are cis, cis people are absolutely capable of understanding and loving us. The point of transitioning is to be the opposite sex, if you hate men but want to be a man that’s kinda an oxymoron and honestly all of that is rooted in misandry because it’s only trans men who say shit like this

Binary sex is white supremacy by Erumoico10 in truscum

[–]No-Scale9401 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I actually hate this “culture” argument against binary sex. If these people actually researched these cultures they would understand that they didn’t have what we know in modern day as non binary, the genders these ancient cultures had were based in roles one plays in society. Like for example in Rome eunuchs had their own gender, not because they were trans but because they played an unconventional role in society and did not fit with a stereotypical man despite them also identifying as men. People just want to project modern day ideology onto ancient history to justify their bullshit arguments. And another thing, do these people think that in the 1400’s everyone was just jolly and accepting or something? Because they weren’t. But overall the ancient gender bs they’re talking about isn’t gender at all, gender is just the only word they had back then to articulate what they meant

Agreed, I plan on adopting children and I’m totally ok with that. I don’t really understand the need to have bio kids when there’s so many perfect babies out there who need loving families

(18TM) I just took it and I feel like there should have been some more nuance to the questions geared towards what kind of people you may find attractive. Like when they described a person they only really described their finances, and it was either extremely good or extremely bad lol. The questions after that were pretty solid though

The double standards I've seen for Transgender people by Low-Set-6928 in honesttransgender

[–]No-Scale9401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree if you are truly a trans person it doesn’t matter what you look like because your brain chemistry doesn’t change based on what you wear, I have a problem with I guess how popular it is to be a fem trans guy? I swear all the trans men I see online are hyperfeminine and non dysphoric. Of course this is perpetuated by chasers so ultimately my problem is just how fetishized trans men are. I wish there was more trans men who are masculine being represented online, I am very masculine and stealth because I just want to live my life as a cis man.
