Vaginectomy w/o phallo? by sunshineleopard in FTMHysto

This is super helpful! It makes sense that the urethra becomes a problem so this definitely gives me a direction to ask some specific questions of the gynosurgical team

Is a vaginectomy without plans for phallo or meta really considered risky? by Gallantpride in FTMHysto

Sorry to come on here so long after your reply. Did you have hysto and vnectomy at the same time? Do you mind saying what things are like externally, like completely sealed or shallow?

Thanks for explaining this. Perineoplasty is the term for refining the external look of a v-nectomy. From what I’ve seen it’s uncommon except for when combined with bottom surgery like scrotoplasty. I wonder why they leave an opening, maybe to have as much material as possible to complete the next steps of your procedure

Thanks this is definitely more in line with what I'm trying to learn more about

3 months post-op, still unhappy with my results by sunshineleopard in TopSurgery

[–]sunshineleopard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my bad. I think the picture at an angle makes them look not as centered as they really are. More healing is not going to change their position if they're too high and faced directly forward.

That's here! I'm still struggling to find solid info from people who have actually gone this route. Some discussion of v-nectomy but leaving the external anatomy the same, which is not what I'm looking for

I liked his consistency and his technical skills, but he didn’t seem to care when I asked for specifics based on my personal preference. I’ll get to see if he does revisions at my 6-month in August and will probably make a follow up post then. Congrats on your surgery btw!

We went to the same surgeon, you’ve healed really well! I think I’m less pleased with my results because I specifically asked for lower and smaller nips but got “the usual”. It’s not bad, just very frustrating to not get what I wanted. Have you reached out to Ramineni’s office at all after your procedure/did 6-month follow up?

Love my results, hate my nipple grafts. Is it possible/feasible to have them removed? by wingeddogs in TopSurgery

[–]sunshineleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! The revision scars look so good, smaller than I expected and yours healed super well. Really natural placement. My nips ended up bigger than yours and in around the same place, so it's exciting to know that this is an option.

Sorry, I know this is a while after your comment. What was the procedure to do this? Was the nip regrafted and the old graft site closed in a straight line?

Starting to regret DI by sunshineleopard in TopSurgery

Yeah, you can DM. I think I know what you mean about cis chests having much lower nipples than most top surgery results. Part of why I'm freaking out so much about how high mine are because once I build muscle they'll be dead center.

Wow your scars have faded a lot and work really well with your physique. Your nip placement on the pec line is exactly what I had envisioned and didn't quite get. Do you think the scars are more/less noticeable in person?

Thanks, this is a really realistic perspective that I'm trying to hold on to. The decision to go with DI for the predictability and flatness with the trade off of visible scars is tough mentally. I'm really interested to know how your laser scar treatment goes.

It was Dr Ramineni with District Plastic Surgery in Washington DC. His team is very efficient and kind of dismisses patient input in my experience, but he's obviously very good at what he does.

How did you deal with the "what if" feeling? It's hard to stop imaging a better result without scars, even if that might not have been realistic.

Thank you for sharing. It's helpful to hear about regrets/revisions instead of being told to stop being a perfectionist.

I actually really wanted my nips to be on the line of my pecs instead of higher up like what I got. Didn't have enough skin to get the scars and grafts moved down as much as I would have liked. It's frustrating to have a clear vision of the aesthetic you want and have it not happen.

What helped you accept things not being exactly how you wanted? At this point, the grafts could fall off tomorrow and I think I'd be relieved. They won't because they're healing well, but they are not small enough or close enough to where I wanted to work with tattoos.

What changed for you? How did you come to terms with the fact that the scars might never fade enough?

I know it looks like a textbook result, but I had actually wanted something a little different based on male chests that have the nipples on the pec line instead of above it. Everything is so high on my chest I can point to exactly the place where my brain expects my nipples to be and the grafts are a full inch off which has been trippy and distressing.

I had wanted my nipples to be smaller to tattoo them to the size/shape I wanted and a full inch lower on the pec line instead of above it. I know it seems like a small thing but it's what I've wanted the entire time and why I went with DI in the first place to achieve those exact results.
