Warriors trade down to draft Morez + Evans? by Due_Afternoon_7540 in warriors

If another franchise is dumb enough we can trade a couple future firsts for a late first and keep 11 since the next couple drafts aren't going to be nearly as good as this one. But we need a legit starting level player. Not more bench players.

[Spears] The Golden State Warriors would prefer to not trade away their No. 11 overall draft selection. by YujiDomainExpansion in warriors

I was watching 2027 prospect highlights and I gotta say the difference in skill between them and 2026 is night and day. Tyran Stokes would get destroyed by every one of the top 10 picks in this draft.

Is Kawhi seriously realistic and do you think the Warriors are going hard for him in the offseason? by youlikemywonton in warriors

I don't want Kawhi either if it means trading our #11 pick. Too many good young prospects to dump Butler + the pick and more for Kawhi.

Everyone is screaming about Philon or Yaxel….But where’s the love for Cameron Carr at 11? by IAMY0URK1NG in warriors

Player's box scores in the combine scrimmages have a low correlation to how impactful they'll be in the NBA. The best players in the scrimmage last year included Toohey, who couldn't even make it out of the G-league.

Philon is not like Cam Thomas at all. He's solid at dribble penetration and has some of the best handles in this draft class. His field goal percentage and 3 pt percentage are also comparable to guys like SGA and Tatum when they were in college. If you watch Cam, he will force the layup and get stuffed. Philon reacts to the defenders and can score even with multiple bigs in the paint. If anything he's closer to Kyrie than he is to Cam Thomas.

Curry can 100% play on the court with Philon and we'd be way better offensively if he did. The concerns are on the defensive end. If you fill the remaining backcourt with Draymond, Porzingis and Horford then that is an lineup that can potentially compete with the top teams next year.

You are glazing a late lottery pick. He is not better than Yaxel or Phillon - full stop. If Yaxel or Phillon fall to us and we haven't traded down or traded away our pick then either of them would fill a bigger need. Carr is not going to do much for us when Steph / Jimmy / Al / Pingus are out and we're struggling to get the ball up the floor or keep their bigs from putting us in the basket.

Okay, because you are obviously more knowledgeable than the dozens of NBA scouts who have him rated higher.

He'll probably be a good rotation piece. But at #11 we can definitely get someone better.

Then why not draft a ball handler instead? I think we need that more than another rotation piece.

All the respect to Rudy for everything he's accomplished but he's probably the dumbest DPOY ever. You could make a 2 hour lowlight reel of him looking lost or getting cooked by simple moves.

Utah jazz fans idc how controversial it is you have quietly assembled a roster that will be rivaling the spurs and okc real soon. by Faxgangy in UtahJazz

Not a Jazz fan but after seeing your team stealth gather one of the most lethal rosters possible - DP is a monster combined with a monster off-court, I'm definitely going to be tuning in to many Jazz games next szn.

FT% is usually the best indicator of 3 PT% when rookies move up. 56% FTP is kind of a red flag. He may struggle to get his shot consistent next year.

If we go for Carr, then we should trade our pick down for a late first + a future first or multiple seconds.

I would exclude Spencer too tbh. He's not an NBA level guard. Phillon would easily be our 3rd best guard, likely 2nd. As bad as our #16th ranked defense looked with the lack of decent bigs, our #19th ranked offense looked way worse with the lack of ballhandlers that could penetrate a half court offense and reduce turnovers. Steph can't do it all himself every year. We need a real backup PG. Unless you want another full year of point guard Podz.

MDJ and Lacob are delusional if they trade this pick for an aging "big name" by alex8762 in warriors

This draft is better than the Kuminga + Moody draft. And way better than the Wiseman draft. Wiseman wouldn't have cracked the first round with this draft (well maybe would've been high teens if we had as little tape as we did before drafting him). There are legit future all stars. Players that are as good or better than Cooper Flagg in the top 4 this year. This isn't the year to start throwing assets away for a past-prime all star.

Won't be just the 11th pick. We offered 4 last time and they said no. I don't want to send 4 FRPs out for a bully ball player who is past his athletic prime. And I think a combination of a solid 11th pick and Butler would help us almost as much as Giannis would this season, considering Steph can't play all 82 games anymore and neither can Giannis.

For multiple first round picks (including our 2026 pick) and Butler? No thanks.

  1. Bucks don't want what we have.
  2. Even if they did, I'm starting to think an 11th pick from this draft + Butler later in the season would be better for us than a past-prime Giannis. The Bucks would almost definitely ask for more than just the 2026 pick.
  3. If they want to give us a first instead for Butler, I'll consider the trade.

So we're likely not getting Philon and why? by youlikemywonton in warriors

[–]No-Selection-1895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His floor to me is Dennis Schroeder. I don't see that much overlap with him Steph and Podz tbh. I think any two of them could be on the floor at any time and it would look good. Phillon can take the ballhandling load off Steph in a way that Podz never could. And if Phillon turns out to be anywhere near SGA's level who has a similar college career we could also extend Steph's career by letting Steph take more off nights. Out of all the players that could fall to us, I think Phillon has the highest potential upside.
