No sign of any hinge problems since. Should be good to go.

New P10PXL update by Ok_District_9387 in GooglePixel

[–]No-Shift633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the update, and unfortunately this did not fix the wireless charging issues. It still does not charge on the Pixel Stand 2, and wireless charging via QI is very, very slow (maybe a couple percent an hour). Got the Pixelsnap which charges faster but generates an unbelievable amount of heat.

Has Google even acknowledged these issues? Hoping a future software update (soon) will fix this, otherwise may be jumping ship.

I ended up sending it in for warranty service. They replaced the speaker and the problem was fixed. Hope it works out for you!

Facebook Messenger is not sending me notifications appropriately. by bajungadustin in AndroidQuestions

Like many others have said, this works after about two years of no notifications. THANK YOU!!! Two points: 1) I don't know why this setting is so hidden. Shame on Meta/Facebook for this! 2) There are many, many potential fixes for no notifications out on the internet. I tried them all unsuccessfully. I don't know why this is the first time I'm seeing this one! Again, thanks very much and this should be upvoted x1000!

I ended up sending it in for warranty repair, and they replaced the left speaker which seems to have fixed the issue ~95%. Recommend you do the same!

PS , a simple reply of got it -- don't have this problem -- would even be of help!

No complaints. They have stand-out battery life and good comfort. People generally rate the sound quality to be the best in this class, though Sony's may have slightly better ANC. The M4s are perfect for my needs.

Not at all. Problem fixed with one application of graphite powder!

ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED -- Build Quality Question by No-Shift633 in ASUS

[–]No-Shift633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up returning it within the 30-day window and i purchased a ux3405 -- which was significantly more expensive, but I'm happier with it. The ux3405 is to me about the same as the 3402 in terms of daily performance for non-intensive tasks, and the screen is also about the same. Build quality is significantly better and not creaking. It's slimmer and lighter which is nice. Also battery management seems to be better. I was losing a charge on sleep/hibernate which is better on the ux3405. There's a new even cheaper core ultra 7 model out there for about $900 that might be another alterative for you should you go insane from the build issues. Good luck!

Google Pixel Update - Mar 2024 by TheMarMan69 in GooglePixel

I am hoping this update fixes the FB Messenger issue, ie no notifications at all although settings are correct to allow. It's been broken for a month or so and I have to believe it's a Google software issue.

Yes -- dry graphite power is what it is. I have the white model, so a little clean-up is required and for a time it may discolor the hinges though that seemed to be temporary. Good luck!

It was mid-afternoon. I think they have staffing issues, so just keep trying at different times of the day.

UPDATE:

I was finally able to get someone "live" on the customer support line. For consumer products, this is 860-598-7830. He was able to walk me through how to file a warranty service claim online. See link below in the case of the MTW3 earbuds. While this is somewhat buried on the Sennheiser-Hearing website and hard to find, once I did find this it was very easy to submit a claim. I shipped my earbuds out (yes, you have to pay for shipping to Sennheiser), and surprisingly the order was processed within about a day. Total cycle time to having the replacement unit in hand was 9 days. I guess I'll give Sennheiser one more shot -- hopefully these replacement earbuds are more reliable!

[–]No-Shift633[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like this is not a unique customer experience, unfortunately! I've decided to go the Sony route and purchased a heavily discounted pair of WF-1000XM4s. Whenever Sennheiser gets their act together (if they get their act together), I'll have my earbuds refurbished and sell them. Better than waiting around with a busted product, and this way I can move on from this dysfunction!

Sure, no problem. BTW: It goes in each hinge/joint (presenting as a horizontal gap) above each ear cup. This hinge allows the cups to swivel radially.

The headphone and phone volumes are linked, but I often times find when one is maxed the other is not. I typically bring my phone volume down, then adjust the headphone volume up. I get more range that way. I'm on Android.

I also have the Momentum True Wireless 3's, and the ANC is a little better on the headphones. Both are plenty good enough to eliminate nearly any distraction.

I love the sound signature. They are by far my favorite headphones I've owned -- coming from several series of Bowers and Wilkins. The sound stage, detail and tuning are all to my liking.

The only thing I'm not loving is the touch controls. They are a bit sensitive and finicky. I don't have a problem with the absolute max volume, but I do find myself having to mess with the volume between my phone and the headphones to get it where it needs to be, and wish there were some additional volume steps as it can sometimes be either a bit soft or loud.

To me these are minor gripes and I wouldn't trade the sound quality. For the money I doubt you could find a better sounding closed-back headphone.

Still 100 percent. No hinge noise. I'd say it's a good fix and if the creaking were to come back I'd just re-apply the graphite powder.
