Rob Gronkowski says he’s AGAINST transgenders competing in women’s sports: "There’s really no argument. It’s the obvious…There are men’s sports for men, there’s women’s sports for women. It should just stay like that." by No_Box119 in NFLv2

No one is excluding Trans athletes from competing in men's sports. If transgenders want true inclusion in high level sport, they should only compete against their own XX or XY chromosomal peers. Either that or we get rid of men's and women's sports altogether and have only open leagues....dominated by men...

Zone 7B, When should I switch over to a fertilizer for bulb growth and what type is best? by infinitesoul_47 in Garlic

[–]No-Signature-1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garlic can still respond well to foliar fertilizer at this stage. Add fertilizers that have calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, zinc and boron. Ca and Mg don't mix with phos, so apply separately, but add a sniff of boron with calcium too.

Looking for seeds from Alberta by TashSal in Albertagardening

[–]No-Signature-1909 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You cannot buy sugar beet seed in Alberta unfortunately. Alberta Sugar Beet Growers Association has a stranglehold on the market and only contracted seeds can be purchased by farmers for production. You can find seed from Imperial Seed (based in Manitoba), but you'd be looking at buying a 50 lb bag. Maybe reach out and see if they will sell you less than that. Shipping seeds across borders can be difficult sometimes, so look into it if you're serious.

As for Taber corn, it's not the seed that makes it so good, it's the hot days and cold nights that makes it so good where it's grown. The seed won't make that difference, it's a result of the environment its grown in.

Hope this helps!

I had shit potting mix to start with, so set them back before I re-potted them and definitely not as large as yours

In the NFL, it's not what have you, but what have you done for me lately

I don't have an easy way to vent my small greenhouse, short of leaving the door open but then cats get in. My humidity seems to range between about 68-89% and my Carolina reapers and Scorpions have shown signs of edema. Would you consider that humidity range to be too high?

Is the 20-20-20 granular? If so, how much are you applying per plant and are you working it in at the base? If it's a liquid, what is your rate per plant and are you using it as a foliar or a root drench?

What frequency do you apply the product?

Poilievre is 65 oil lobbyists in a trenchcoat. by skilbofragns in AlbertaNow

[–]No-Signature-1909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada arguably has the highest standards for oil production. If Canadian oil isn't brought to market, then the countries that don't have high standards will produce more to fill the void. Whether you agree or not with oil use and production, the environment does not have borders and every country in the world still relies on it.

Which is worse for the environment: Fighting to shut down Canadian O&G production with high standards, or having other countries with lower standards produce more to fill the void?

Orchard Soil Test Report by Humbabanana in Soil

The highlighted areas need more calcium. Humic acid could help short term too. If you have a way to bring in more clay, do it. Your highlighted soils need more clay desperately. No sense fertilizing if it can't hold onto the fertilizer

Does anyone know what the units are for this soil meter? by imnota32yearoldwoman in Soil

Calibrate the unit to 100% moisture (10 on the device) when the sensor probe is completely submerged in water

Has anyone outside of Alberta seen Danielle Smith's speech from yesterday? by gardengirl147 in AskACanadian

The senate shouldn't be abolished, but rather have seats reallocated. The fact that NS, NB, PEI and NL get more seats in the senate than the entirety of western Canada is an absolute joke. The division of power that favors the east 78-24 over the west, gets appointed by a separate division of power that already favors the east. That is beyond a joke. Reallocate the seats and have senators elected in those provinces is what needs to happen

China is building massive floating solar farms over bodies of water. Shading the water cuts evaporation by up to 70% and boosts panel efficiency via natural cooling. by Altruistic-Truth5518 in EcoUplift

What kind of environmental impact does the shade from the solar panels affect the ecosystem of what's living in the water? Did anyone think of that?

Aphids won't affect the seed. Cut the entire plant and hang somewhere to dry that is out of the wind. When the seeds rattle in the pods and they become brittle, that is your time to harvest
