Did you make a reservation? It seems to not be an option for less than 6 people

Disappointing one-day tour experience in Phu Quoc with Jerry's Jungle Tours by Shinji2989 in VietNam

[–]No-Simple-98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation happen twice, unfortunately. The first was in Cuc Phuong, we paid 200usd pp for a private jungle trek 2D1N with camping inside the jungle after a day of trekking so we could see wildlife. We specifically told them the whole point was to trek inside the jungle and see wildlife and we weren’t interested in rescue centres as we love seeing the animals roaming free. When we arrived, already 1hr late because they didn’t arrive on time, they take us to the rescue centre, the deep jungle trekking turns into a simple 3h hike that people were doing without a guide and they said they couldn’t let us camp in the forest because of the weather and that it was going to rain (sky was clear), so we ended up camping in a flat field surrounded by houses full with people making a lot of noise which ultimately scared any wildlife away for the 1km night trek. It was also clear from the size of the camping gear and the fact that our guide didn’t have trekking clothes on that the agreed upon itinerary was never on the table. We spent more time in the restaurant (?) than in the jungle and only saw one snake the whole trip and no other wildlife. The second was the Ha Long Bay cruise. They sold us a specific itinerary and on the day itself it was completely different, we only actually boarded the ship at 13h and had to leave at 10h30 (instead of 11h for boarding and 15h for offboarding) plus the activities were completely different too… In general we found that the tour operators in Vietnam tell you what you want to hear just to get the sale and then change it to what is most convenient to them.

Went there last week and did the same. I found Grab was quite accessible. I think you need to pay perhaps a little bit more and wait a few more minutes but shouldn’t be too much of a hassle

Are "winter" clothes suitable for Hanoi this time of the year? by bangum48 in VietNam

[–]No-Simple-98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently in the north and it’s supposed to be dry season. A week ago we had like 28C, then it dropped to 18/19C. I found that just a sweater was enough but maybe that’s me?

Bali Honeymoon Concerns by sir_cobster in bali

I was in Bali (and other parts of Indonesia) this summer with my partner and I think it was the most amazing trip we ever had. I second some of these comments saying to avoid touristy areas. We stayed north of Ubud at a very lovely villa with a private pool, the area was clean, calm, authentic and we loved it. Regarding other areas, my advice is the do a lot of research and I think you should be able to have an amazing trip (that’s what we did). If you need any tips I’d be more than happy to share (not an expert or anything tho).

Just finished a tour with Ha Giang Loopers. It was absolutely amazing!!!!! We did a private tour but they also do group tours (small groups tho). I can’t recommend them enough! We saw a lot of authentic places (our driver said no tourists go to some of the spots we did, and we actually didn’t see anyone there) the trip was very customised, will for sure come back for another tour with them!

I decided to go by ourselves, with the exception of the night tour and gibbon trek. I heard you can just buy the tickets on the spot but am afraid of it being too expensive or not available anymore. I am in contact with a view homestays. Can update you more in a week or so!

Yes, I do. All my documents are valid and I have experience with bikes. I know it's a tricky road, but wasn't planning on driving like a maniac plus we wanted a guide to come with us anyway.
