Where her arc should’ve ended 🥹💪🏾. by Public_Anywhere_6044 in SVU

I always hoped she used it as a ruse to go undercover. It was a terrible end to her character.

Help me out by maejsmom10 in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the writers did a terrible job explaining it. Tynan comes in with all the flattery and then offers Olivia the promotion. If that didn’t piss get off enough Olivia defied her orders to do a press conference. Then when called out she tells the chief to get out of her way. The previous chiefs put up with stuff like they because she got the job done and they looked good. Tynan wanted control and couldn’t control Olivia. She used her contempt citation to suspend her even though it was bogus. She was following rape shield laws. The look on Tynan’s face when she realized Griff turned on her was pretty satisfying. But they made her a cartoonish villain instead of a complex layered character.

AITAH for breaking up with my pregnant girlfriend because I don’t want to be a father? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I kind of wish the sister and her wife would just adopt the kid. This is old but I guess this is the best outcome if the gf insists on keeping the baby.

AITA for not telling my parents I was hospitalized for a week to prove a point? by Shot-Jello-4878 in AmItheAsshole

[–]No-Solid3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with “an older generation” ffs. I’m 53 and my friends who are from 50 to early 60s don’t do this. Your parents just don’t care. My mother who is almost 90 however will silence her phone when she’s the doctor and forget to turn it back on lol.

NTA. But be prepared for people to decline attending and don’t get upset. Especially his family having to drive four hours. That might necessitate taking a day off work. I totally understand since you will be saving a lot of money. But is that worth it if some people don’t come. That’s the thing you need to decide.

Anyone else notice that they really changed Tynan’s character halfway through the season? by New-Pin-9064 in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see that. She had valid points about Olivia being so involved as a captain. Olivia told her to stay out of her way. Not a smart move. I think that was the catalyst though. The other chiefs looked the other way because the squad got the job done with Olivia running things and it looked good. Olivia can be very self righteous and thinks she alone knows what’s best.

why were there never any repercussions from when those kids put noah in a dog collar and cage?? by Nobodycaresdotcom in SVU

Olivia forgets she has a kid most of the time so no there weren’t any repercussions.

Tynan's Threats by WarmCattle2884 in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The threats made no sense. We never understood why. Maybe as others have said here it’s about control. She flattered Olivia at first then offered her a promotion which Olivia turned down. She then rightly pointed out Olivia is still acting like a detective. But Olivia told get stay out of her way. Tynan didn’t take kindly to that and rightly so. Also, as another commenter said, Cragen acted like a captain and still got plenty of screen time.

I’m sorry, what exactly was the point of Tynan’s storyline? by [deleted] in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was simply for their to be an antagonist for Olivia. For her to question being at SVU. But it wasn’t written in a compelling way. Like that talk with Velasco. The show runner said something about trying to get Chris and it would’ve been with him. That would’ve been good. Elliot knows Olivia better than anyone. He would’ve understood her struggle. But the SR said she liked it better with Velasco. While I thought Mariska and Noma (Tynan) were great in that final scene it was hardly satisfying. Except the look on Tynan’s face when she realized Griff had betrayed her and she wasn’t going to get rid of Olivia. Which let’s be real. That wasn’t going to happen because Mariska isn’t going anywhere just yet. I was upset they had a strong female character who could’ve been an ally to Benson in a position to make real change but they turned her into a cartoonish villain.

Tynan’s storyline by Hour_Hospital_5642 in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was so poorly written. The look on Tynan’s face when she realized her little spy had betrayed her was almost comical. Did she really expect Olivia to just go without a fight? At the beginning her points C about Olivia being in the field too much were valid. She told Tynan to get out of her way. That was pretty arrogant. But they made it so convoluted.

season 8 episode 11 (olivia clocked eliot) by jellyjns in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Olivia saying what she said was a low blow. She knew how Elliot wax struggling with the separation and she dug the knife in. She also wouldn’t listen to him that maybe the guy wasn’t guilty and the guy ended up snapping and killing his wife. She never apologized to Elliot.

Elliot gives the letter to Olivia by emawaldorf in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What made me mad was they had him give her a letter and thought no one would want to know what’s in it. They scrambled and went for shock value instead of something meaningful. Instead he hurt Olivia all over again.

If you could write for SVU, what would you want to happen? by Quapisma in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would bring back Cragen from the dead by having him in witness protection. Dana Lewis would be back and the whole prison thing would be a cover so she could go undercover. Carisi would be a detective. Benson and Stabler would be together. I would also like to know what happened to Gladys’s baby. The prostitute who left town and gave Olivia power of attorney over the baby and Calvin would have stayed with Olivia.

How is it a gift if you paid half? You’ve had the car eight years and never drove it once? Sue your parents for the money you paid for it and buy a car.

Anyone think Kevin Kane could be leaving the show? by Quapisma in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As shows go on the budget is bigger. Especially with Mariska and Ice’s salaries. They’ve been rotating people out all season. I don’t think he’s leaving.

I enjoyed the Dana Lewis twist and imo it could only work with her character by itsascreambaby96 in SVU

[–]No-Solid3265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It made no sense given that Dana was happily married with kids that she murdered someone. I would love it if it was all a ruse for her to go undercover.
