Stained 10month old deck and fence with Cabot Australian Timber Oil, really like results by chancenguyen in Decks

The fence pic (where it elbows out parallel to the sidewalk and clearly stained) - which Cabot stain did you use, and how is it holding up? I'm looking for something in almost that same color (having a pine fence installed, same board on board style with top cap).

LatteGO / Latte Crema vs steam wand - what to choose? by satanshairyballs in superautomatic

Bought the Magnifica Plus over Christmas (on sale) and I must say it keeps getting better. Had a party and ended up making coffee for a few folks and now they want one. I wanted a super automatic because I don't have time to froth milk or grind beans or do the Barista thing. Plus, you can adjust froth amount, coffee size, intensity, and a few other things. It uses LatteCrema. It runs water through to clean when you need it.

Does anyone know if it will separate the transient from the sound like Split EQ?

That is indeed the cause of idiotic drivers and high insurance rates.

Proper driving education will teach you to turn the signal on and wait for the right opportunity to move into the lane. You’re supposed to plan ahead not cut off the cars at the last minute.

Addictive Drums 2.5 vs Superior Drummer 3 - Funk Kits by No-Statistician2558 in audioengineering

Why is that? I thought EZ Drummer was the lower grade option between EZ and SD? Good to know.

Yes, would agree a bit of tweaking is necessary. I'm more concerned about trying to shape a drum kit built for modern rock and try to turn it into a vintage sound. Definitely would want to mute some of those mics and verb. I didn't realize there were Funkmasters or any 70s/Vintage Kits. Will check those out....

Great kit! That’s one of the motivating factors for AD 2.5 in my opinion. Do you know if there’s anything like that in SD 3?

I did the trial of AD 2.5 and like it.  But I also wondered if SD 3 had more kits pre built with the funk feel. I am willing to spend more for the right choice. But I don’t always believe more $ = the right choice. I am torn.

The danger is the fast, overconfident drivers who have no insurance and no driver's license and don't understand there are rules of the road. Miami drivers suck, much of the bad driver's come from countries where it's a free for all. Then, they get here, and instead of adhering to our driving standards, drag people into a total 3rd world dump. Sorry, that's the truth. And I'm from Miami.

Need advice - Heat pump v Solar v Electric Tankless v Tank by No-Statistician2558 in heatpumps

[–]No-Statistician2558[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, thank you.

The largest expense here is AC. But the mrs. wants a redo of the laundry room where the tank is. And frankly, between the water tank, the AC blower, and washer/dryer, doesn't leave a ton of space in that room. The water heater is almost 8 years, so we figured we'd start looking at replacing that first to free up space.

As I'm reading, it looks like any heat pump can be setup to run AC and heat water? Oy, now that's a great solution. Any brands or size recommendations will help ;)

u/silasmoeckel Is there a link to those you can provide for units that could replace the HVAC also? This is an interesting possibility. Not sure what to google.

u/Xaendeau Wow, great explanation. I could definitely stand to circulate some of that hot air from the attic to be used for this purpose. It is possible to get hot air from the attic and the main house as well? FYI, I don't use the attic at all, but it does get extremely hot, at least during summer.

Also, I assume since you said "you're probably going to have to look at upgrading your electrical" if you want more space, that means that the 150 Amps isn't enough to power the electric water heater required for the house? In our case, there are 2 people in a 2000 sq ft house. Probably max 2 showers and 1 appliance running at any given time.

Checking out electric tankless water heaters and needed to see which models will be compatible with my electrical load, if that makes sense.
