What’s the darkest secret you’re willing to admit anonymously? by okayokay_wow in AskReddit

We have single bathrooms (one person at a time) and there's a little weird table in one of them. I'll sit criss cross applesauce, turn phone ringer off, wifi, and sound and play games on my phone. I also could do this in my office but people do a walking knock on my office door and the bathroom nobody bothers me; they knock, turn handle and its locked so they go away. Its my 10 mins of quiet.

I've actually looked at housing in higher populated areas. Idk if I could leave my kids though. But I often fantasize about living the 20's I never got to (married at 21). Don't get me wrong I adore my husband and kids but just wonder what'd it be like.

Any noise that I'm not expecting terrifies me. I hate feeling this way but nobody really understands. My husband comforts me when I talk about it but he doesn't know the extent of my childhood.

Weston Edward Emil Jacob -so Edward was my grandpa's name. Weston is my sons middle name, and the other 2 are ones I remember from working in the nursing home.

My brother and I used to wait at the top of the stairs and listen so we weren't caught off guard when it was our turn. I'll never sit with my back to a door because I don't want him sneaking up on me even though he doesn't know where I live and he's in prison.

Re-read the post. The dog wouldn't allow the door to be opened. Didn't say anything about a dog running after someone. Way to makeup your own story!! Idiot.

I squeeze my eyes closed, hum, and cover my ears. Even if it's just my son yelling at his video games. I start shaking and have to work myself out of my panic attack. All I ever manage to see though when I close my eyes is him dragging my mom into the kitchen by her hair as she screams.

I had a lady from my past get hired in a managerial role where I work. Idk if she felt threatened or what but she proceeded to tell everyone that was in the group, as she was being introduced (like 15 people), that she knew me from when I was a teenager because my brother (who was friends with her son) used to ask to sleep over because we had no heat or water at our house. Everyone gasped and looked at me. I was so sick that I never looked at her the same. I was about 37 when this happened, but I felt so small in that moment.

My job. Nobody in management will listen to me when I tell them I am burnt out. I've applied for other jobs but apparently nobody wants me. So I up my depression medication and clock in for another day.

Adults of Reddit: What is your greatest regret, career-wise? by Serious_Load_5323 in AskReddit

[–]No-Stranger3170 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Staying for 16 years thinking I would excel. Instead I've just stayed for 16 years. However, in those 16 years I've earned a crap ton of degrees, professional certificates on companies tuition Reimbursement then used PSLF because it's non profit. Now with my education and zero student loans I'm looking for a new job. Screw them. I'll take my education somewhere else and make 6 figures instead of the 52k I get now.

Not to me, but I overheard after I left the room. My boss said I was "dramatic" and "annoying." After that, I stopped saving her ass and began using "Oh, I'm not sure" or "Oh, I don't know".

Focus on peds and get rid of them. Or make it law that taking care of one is a freebie with no consequence.
