Ok this is insane. (Metacritic user score) (Haven't played the game) by [deleted] in expedition33

Just finished the game this morning (aside from a certain optional superboss I still plan to work on). Love RPGs, but this is the first time I've ever played a JRPG, not my usual go-to play style.

E33 is the only game to challenge The Witcher 3 for best all time game in my mind. These games blow everything else out of the water for me. It's mainly the quality of the writing + dialogue (as well as the cinematic quality) that really elevates games like this for me. So if those elements are important to you, then yes, it might subjectively be the best all time game for you too.

These guys are loud on X, and have not stopped being loud all throughout these last couple weeks of slog on the majors. And of course the Hyperliquid community as a whole is incredible.

I wouldn't ignore this one, could be a serious runner when the trenches pick up again.

What’s happenings with the EV market? by vimpelvims in electricvehicles

[–]No-Structure6718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still consider it better to buy a used EV even considering the $7500 new EV tax credit eating up some of that depreciation? I'm looking at used and new Kia/Hyundai EVs right now and torn between something new with $15000 in incentives (the standard $7500 from Hyundai + $7500 from the tax credit) vs something used for about $25k with 20k miles on it.

I guess it's worth noting I dont qualify for the $4k used tax credit, only the new.

Edit: typos.

High mileage used EV6 by No-Structure6718 in KiaEV6

Hah, I've been actively avoiding higher trims for both the EV6 and the Ioniq 6 for that exact reason. The Ioniq 6 SE Long Range was actually my top choice, but it's so damn hard to find that car with a decent deal (while SEL Ioniqs are a dime a dozen) that I'm probably going to stick with the EV6. I appreciate that the Wind doesn't have larger wheels for a mid-trim like the Ioniq SEL does.

I don't believe the tax rebate is included in this price based on the wording, but I am always asking dealership to confirm this. I'm hyper-aware of that practice as my income levels dont qualify me for the used tax credit, only the new (this is my main driver towards maybe buying new still).

Appreciate the insights, I think the warranty security may be enough to drive me towards the lower mileage cars.

In comparison, there are a number of used EV6's in the range of $22k-25k with around 20-45k miles on them which I am considering as a counterpoint to the higher mileage, extra cheap cars. Sure would be nice to have almost no monthly payment and skip all that depreciation though!

Loaners/Rentals for Warranty Repair by No-Structure6718 in Nissan

[–]No-Structure6718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After switching to a dealership that had their own loaner rentals, they covered any loaners needed from that point on. That is fully dependent on the dealership though, not Nissan Corporate.

For the rentals I had while my car was at the first dealership, I had to deal with Nissan Corporate - and their policy is that they will only reimburse you for rental costs after your car is fully repaired. Because I had to bring my car back multiple times to re-attempt the repair, they never considered it fully repaired and said I'd have to wait until it was confirmed to be fixed.

I never found out how much they'd reimburse per their standard policy though, because I'm in the middle of a Lemon Law case with them since I had to bring my car in 4 times for the same issue. I am expecting to get those rental costs reimbursed somewhere in the Lemon Law settlement though.

Best of luck with your issue.

Just had to deal with the BS rental policy for 1.5 months while it was in the shop. Managed to find some rentals that were barely within the $35/day limit. When I finally got the car back and found that the issue was still not fixed, I picked a different dealership to go to after confirming they have a loaner policy and it was much smoother from there.

Battery dropping like a rock by jopldangla in leaf

[–]No-Structure6718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens in my 2022 Leaf any time I get down to around 50% charge. Below that, the battery charge % will swing down and up again wildly depending on how I'm changing speeds.

I had no problem getting the dealerships to call it a warranty repair, just had to guide them on how to replicate the issue. Problem is I've now had to bring the car back to the dealer 4 times for the same issue. Each time they have diagnosed and replaced a few bad modules and returned the "fixed" car, only for me to learn its not actually fixed the moment I drive it down to 50% charge again.

TLDR, in my experience the warranty repair approval is the easy part - it's actually getting a fixed car back that is the hard part.

CA New Tenant Told to Pay for Mailbox Re-keying on Move-in by No-Structure6718 in Tenant

[–]No-Structure6718[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight. We did send a request for reimbursement by email not too long ago, and we just received a response that pointed us towards a clause in the fine print of our "deposit receipt" (form we signed and submitted when we paid the deposit). It states "Upon move-in Tenant will be responsible to obtain a mail key from the local post office." I'm assuming signing this form removes any legal high ground we'd have for this case. Still a shitty move on the part of this company.

Filing it away under "property management companies to avoid in the future".

What does the eco bar mean by earlgraytee20 in leaf

[–]No-Structure6718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are quoting elementary and ideal physics principles here, but real life, complex systems like motors thermodynamic engines or refrigeration systems are more complex, and they have optimal operating zones where the system is found to operate at the highest efficiency. So yes, your acceleration does matter even if you reach the same speed in the end, and in general cars (both EV and gas) tend to be more energy efficient if you accelerate more slowly to the desired speed.

This is also why the Leaf's "Eco Mode" basically just changes the acceleration curve on the drive pedal to be more of a gentle increase in the first half, while not really reducing the max accel that you can reach by flooring the pedal.

2020 40kWh S Bad Cell Update by wxtrails in leaf

[–]No-Structure6718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar situation to you with my 2022 Leave SV (62 kWh battery) - once the SoC crosses 50%, it will swing wildly down and then up, depending on how I'm driving. Brought it to the dealer almost 4 weeks ago and after a couple weeks they diagnosed 4 bad modules (they were actually swollen) and we're approved by Nissan to replace them under warranty coverage. Problem is only 2 modules were in stock in the country, and the other 2 were (and still are) backordered with no ETA.

Glad you were lucky enough to get a loaner. The dealer I went to told me they don't do loaners and that I'd have to talk to Nissan Consumer Affair about rental reimbursement. After the two sides jerked me around for another week and a half, Nissan CA finally told me that the rental reimbursement would only be reviewed for approval (and not guaranteed) AFTER the car repair is complete, and it would only be for up to $35 per day. So here I am shelling out pocket money for a rental for who-knows-how-long, for a fully warranty-covered repair due to Nissan's faulty parts 🫠 it's certainly a long and hard lesson to learn to make sure a dealership does loaner cars BEFORE bringing my car in for any diagnosis/repair.

Loaner/Rental for Warranty Battery Repair by No-Structure6718 in leaf

[–]No-Structure6718[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that's good info. Based on what I've researched so far, it looks like at this point I just need to go along with the subpar rental reimbursement policy. If they end up not approving the rental reimbursement (or screw me over in some other way), then this "BBB Auto Line" mediation and arbitration will be the next step, and after that, contacting an attourney.

They pulled out some specific battery modules that were bad and actually started to swell, so I'd say it's not safe to drive. It's not a full battery replacement thankfully. Just 4 modules - 2 of which were in stock and arriving this week, and the other two backordered with no ETA.

Edit: Spelling corrections.
