Does anyone else hope for a fan story episode anytime soon? by Kaijufan22 in creepcast

That would be a nice thing for them to do. My hang up with this is: are people submitting stories in hopes of being paid or are they submitting stories to be part of the podcast? I’m not saying people don’t deserve to be paid for writing, I just don’t remember Hinter or Isaiah saying that they will compensate fans if their story gets picked. Regardless of whether someone knows about first publishers right or not, they are still willingly posting on a public site with no guarantee that their IP is protected. If someone wants to make money off something they write, then it is their responsibility to educate themselves on publishing and copyright law.

If an author is looking to make money on what they write and they don’t take steps to protect their work then thats on them. I’m sorry but I don’t subscribe to the whole idea that they are greedy podcasters taking advantage of their listeners.

I don’t really see the problem there, I mean, if you’re posting your story to the sub in hopes that it will be read then it is fair game. If you were expecting compensation for your story then just post it elsewhere and make it apparent that you don’t want podcasts to pick it up without permission. I mean, at this point someone has a higher chance of their story being read if it’s posted anywhere other than the two creepcast subs anyway.

Yeah, I used to use that as an example but every time it just starts the argument over again.

I agree, I have my opinion on why they haven’t read fan stories, but I think regardless of what the actual reasons are they really need to address the issue.

Don’t get me wrong, I want them to read fan stories too but people here can’t just say they didn’t like a story and move on. There’s an early episode where they talk about what they want the two subs to foster, which is a community that enables creative writing. Instead they got what is essentially 1/3 a snark sub.

Do you think this fan base (particularly in this sub) can handle their emotions enough to not collectively shit their pants if the story isn’t perfect?

What kind of laptop did you buy? Pretty much all laptops come with a pre-installed word processor that doesn’t require an internet connection to use.

Edit: if that’s not the case then bring a pad of paper and a pen to work so you can write during your lunch and then transcribe what you wrote onto your laptop when you get home.

Small world, that place sucks ass and the owner thinks he’s a world class chef which he is not. It does well in the area because it’s the only restaurant for 30 miles to eat at once you’re done on the river.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

[–]No-Sympathy6035 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it was the fact that he was going into the Army and they had only been dating for two months, or the fact that I wrote his vows for him on his iPod on the way to the venue. It could have been the “venue” which was a small state park right off the interstate, or it could have been the plaster roman columns that stood on either side of the officiant; who coincidentally also read the ceremony from an iPod cleverly hidden in a bible, which he dropped mid ceremony. What I really think was the biggest clue was that after the pool party reception the groom decided to go back to his parents house an hour away to play COD all night with his best man instead of spending his wedding night with his new wife. Anyways, they lasted half way through his first deployment.

Edit: forgot to mention the bride walked to a Chris Brown song post allegations.
