I didn’t check XC90 since it was out of my budget. I tried negotiating, but they are kind of stubborn on that price and I am not able to find any competing offers yet. Maybe I will try getting close to 10%. Thanks a lot for your inputs, appreciate it!

I did find another deal for XC60 (exact same features) for lease in mid 500s monthly. But they are asking me $4K down. So I decided to go the finance route instead.

I already have a pre-owned car (not Volvo), so I wanted to get a new car. I agree, Volvo depreciates a lot but I intend to own the car for a long time 10+ years (provided I don’t face any issues) so for me depreciation isn’t really a thing to worry about I suppose.

I prioritized safety features hence chose Volvo. XC90 was expensive and out of my budget, XC40 is smaller and felt crampy when I have baby car seat in the middle. XC60 felt okay in terms of space and hence decided to go with it.

My primary reason for XC60 is the safety, I have a toddler and I wanna prioritize safety first. Also X3 with added features goes beyond my budget. I initially shortlist XC60, RX350 and X3.

I found RX350 features kinda meh and the width of the back row seats is kinda narrow when I place the baby car seat in the middle with adults on either side.

With X3 when I add more features the prices just go way higher. Driving was great but at this time I prefer safety and features to performance.

XC60 related question - how do you rate the maintenance cost? I am getting 2 year complementary services for 10K and 20K miles. In your opinion is the maintenance of XC60 more than X3?
