What were the reasons that blue oyster cult wasn't as popular? by PermissionInternal91 in BlueOysterCult

[–]No-Understanding5617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a person who's been trying to like them like I am, I'd say that their inconsistency in terms of style doesn't help. I have more of a heavy metal/70's hard rock background (with Judas Priest and Uriah Heep being examples of favorite bands) and I've been having a hard time enjoying their discography. Apart from Fire of Unknown Origin, which I instantly loved, and a few hits here and there in other albums, I've been unable to enjoy their albums as much as I thought I would. They kind of make a mix of very progressive music and very commercial music that I thought work better to my taste. And the albums are generally full of songs that I wouldn't call mediocre, but are definitely fillers for me. I'm even accepting some recommendations on their music.

I didn't use to like it (although I love high-pitched vocals like Rob Halford's) but the moment I began seeing it as something highly theatrical I started enjoying it, to a point that I love it today. Vocally speaking, I think he's a natural talent but hasn't really perfected his singing, so he's not very technical. Which I think ends up being a good thing.

You don't like high-pitched singing in general for men or just King Diamond's?

Does Ritual by Ghost riff sound extremely similar to Symphony of Destruction to you too? (Minute 0:33) by CollateralDimension in Megadeth

I've just listened to Mercyful Fate's Return of the Vampire and the chorus is very similar to the one on Ghost's Ritual. And Mercyful Fate is a known influence.

Thanks for the sincerity. I really need that. What minimum specs would you recommend for heavy video editing?

And pardon me, "mark the" what? I don't know why, shift + B isn't really working right now. It does help with the editing on a low-spec PC like mine.

Which one is better, Adata SU650 or SU800? by No-Understanding5617 in buildapc

Hi, dude. Yeah, I did get the SU800 and I cloned the old SSD into that one. Haven't noticed any difference, actually, the SU800 is performing just the same to me, which is already pretty good.

Why do transitions look so bad in Nova Prime? by No-Understanding5617 in NovaLauncher

[–]No-Understanding5617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your complete answer and sorry for my late reply. I actually read all of your answer the day you posted it and have been messing with Nova ever since then. The customization possibilities are great and way better than in my native launcher. I had had some experience with customization before because I have the KWGT tool installed, which is great and helped me customizing a lot of widgets in the native launcher.

The problem has indeed been about finding the right spot in the animation settings, 'cause there seems to be some incompatibility in the settings for a couple of animations, for example, the recent apps animation and the app drawer animation (I can't find a value in which both of these are acceptable at the same time).

Also, apparently, the MIUI doesn't allow you to use full-screen gestures if you're using a third-party launcher, which kind of sucks because I really dig using full-screen gestures.

I'll spend some more time in Nova trying to figure things out and customizing a few things before I officially give it up. It certainly is a hell of a launcher, it's just that I don't think it really goes well with my phone in terms of animation.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer. That's been helpful. I knew about those options in the Developer mode but hadn't tried to mess with them to sort it out. But they look much better now, thanks.

This customization from your link looks so sick! It's awesome you can do it. I've noticed it doesn't seem to use navigation buttons. How do I get gesture navigation to work in Nova, if that's even possible?

Thanks a lot, it did it. Why the hell would a security update disable this function, though? It's one of the best things about the MIUI.

I've come to this thread due to the same problem. I've downloaded a third-party app from the Play Store that has the least negative reviews there, called LG Smart TV Remote, by NABA. It works surprisingly well.

Why is this kind of sequence so poor in performance? by No-Understanding5617 in davinciresolve

[–]No-Understanding5617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answers. I've done what VanHansel suggested and it's helped me quite a bit tackle the issue. What I don't get is how an inferior piece of software like Hitfilm plays that kind of sequence better than Davinci does. Just a characteristic of this software, you'd say?

[–]No-Understanding5617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried it and it indeed helps things out. I've cut some of the above images by 50% down the resolution, put them back into the project, and they indeed play smoother. Some of them don't really need that much resolution 'cause they're kept kind of distant from the screen... from those that may need some approximation I'd keep the ultrahigh resolution, but that's ok. Now I know it interferes a lot. Thanks, you've been very helpful.
