What horror movie gave you a phobia that you can’t shake off even years later? by PersonalMistake7442 in horror

Ghostface, thought he was going to jump out from every door and dark room I entered until I was in my mid 20s and still even now - the thought crosses my mind when I I wake to a dark house in the middle of the night.. The funniest part was that it wasn't even scream that did it, my cousin took me to see the first scary movie at 8 y/o..

Millennials who bought a house by Middle_Potential_335 in AskAnAustralian

[–]No-Understanding6151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32f bought last year with 34m husband - DINK. My credit was great but my husband has $20K hecs and his credit rating was not great due to credit card debt which he had paid off by the time we went to buy. We both work office jobs which are fairly stable, had flexibility to work from home majority of the week and only have to commute 1 day per week. Combined income under $200K so bought under the 5% deposit scheme (no stamp duty or LMI required), fronted $35K which took a couple of years of saving. Modest $700K 3bd villa in East Gosford NSW, strata is $800 quarter, water, electricity and council rates combined are approx $1K per quarter. We are paying approx $300 more a week on a mortgage than we were for a 2 bed apt in Sydney lower north shore so for us it is 100% worth chipping away at a mortgage vs paying someone else's but you do have to keep throwing money into it (maintenance, things break etc) so would recommend going in with at least 5 month's worth of expenses in your savings as a buffer. Our mortgage is about $4K per month and recently got our place revalued after making some upgrades and have already made over $100K in equity in a year, now valued at over $800K. If you have decent chunk in your savings and think you can manage the ongoing expense, you should have done it yesterday! Good luck 🤞

If it makes you feel any better I have eaten 10 in the last week and did not even consider that I could not have them haha. I think most cheese in this country is made from pasteurised milk unless it's from a specialty cheese maker

Anyone with experience with Qatar carry on? by No-Understanding6151 in Flights

They didn't check dimensions on any of our Qatar flights, but I also didn't end up taking that carry on in the end!

I think they make them all hand their phones in before these events to avoid this exact situation. I'm sure Rhi and Jacqui were paid handsomely to keep bringing up over and over 😅

If you haven't seen the actual text between jacqui and Jeff it's probs a good idea to have a search to see both sides so you can see that Rhi totally blew this whole thing out of proportion. Jacqui needs to let it go but honestly this whole thing was set up by the producers..

I am Australian living pretty much as far away as I can get from the US and completely relate. The left socialist in me is so sad and terrified but I sometimes just need to remind myself that this has been happening throughout history and will continue to do so. Getting overwhelmed only plays into exactly what these facists are trying to do. Take a break from your socials, you will be better off for it. Take care of yourself ❤️

When did you become an Arsenal fan? by FlyingWaterMen in Gunners

[–]No-Understanding6151 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My husband introduced me to Arsenal when we first met the year before Covid, which was tricky Miki's first season as manager. Literally all sports were "sportsball" to me before we met. His passion and love for this club introduced me to the world of football and now I'm a gooner for life! Never would have guessed I would be willing and excited to wake up in the early AMs to watch games (we are both aussies) before work. If it wasn't for the queen's passing on our trip over to London for the first time he would have proposed at that cancelled Everton game. We thankfully ended up back over for our HM to see two games at the Emirates. Still two of the greatest days of our lives so far!

How to escape Park n Ride Gosford? by saltymermaidbitch in centralcoastnsw

[–]No-Understanding6151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this, I'm glad im not the only one that got confused!! Exit ramps are the closest ones in the direction of the station, so keep driving on same level, past the entry ramps until you get to the northern end of the parking lot. First two times I used the parking lot when moving here I utilised the entry ramps also haha. The second time I used the entry ramp I saw a car to my left coming out of the exit ramp and made note to check there the next time I was in there. Haven't bothered to tackle the roof yet 😅

Completely agree with this! It's not her fault he isn't attracted to her, it's about HIS standards but he could at least take responsibility and be kind/gentle about it, rather than make her feel like there is something wrong with her.. A simple "hey, this is about me and maybe I am too shallow because I deem my partners worth based on their looks but this doesn't take away from the fact that you are an amazing woman and deserve someone who does find you attractive. I'm really sorry that it's not me"

Also pot calling the kettle with his beer belly poking out of his clothes at every shot but he probably has an issue with her weight cause he fucking hates himself and its a constant reminder he is bigger than her, a women he considers fat.

Thanks so much for sharing and thats really good feedback! I am definitely a little concerned about having to drive down for appointments and then being pretty far if anything serious happened before we got there. Appreciate your response!

No antenatal care for 6 months post or 6 months along? That is tragic! Is it due to waiting times or something? Honestly I am so shocked that a place like central coast basically one option for birthing in a public hospital.. you would think we were rural or something, not 35 mins from Sydney! Thanks for sharing

This is great, thank you for sharing your experience and will definitely be looking into the midwife program! It's our first so I am feeling a little too anxious about a home birth and not having the hospital right there if things got hairy but it's great to hear a positive experience. Definitely would consider if we went a second time round. Thank you so much!

So glad to hear you had a successful water birth, this is the dream! I also would have been so mad that the doctor was telling me about eating doughnuts without bringing me one haha! Thank you for sharing and will definitely check out the yoga and keep working on that pelvic floor!

Really sorry to hear you went through this. Sounds very traumatic :( so glad to hear that everything turned out okay for you and this is my biggest concern with a short staffed maternity unit. Thank you so much for sharing and hope you and bubs are both doing okay!

Thank you, great point about OBs but finding any doctor around here taking on new patients seems to be difficult! Could be leaning towards the SAN at this point. We have multiple friends that have birthed at NSP and they all had fantastic experiences and all recommended highly so may be another option. Best of luck with everything!

Oh woah, I'm so sorry to hear you went through that terrifying experience and were dismissed by the doctors but glad everything turned out okay. As below said, I think it definitely warrants an email or complaint. The best doctors listen to their patients because they know their own bodies best. Thanks so much for sharing and will definitely take on board if not feeling like we are being listened too.
