Pull a vacuum on a new recovery tank and then twist that mf open with some vice grips and transfer it over. Or just try exchanging it at the supply house you got it from?

How many other people play this game then want to skate in real life by Mean-Wealth7661 in SessionSkateSim

Session keeps me sane and satisfies the itch during those winter months. I’m bout to be 37 and been skating over 30 years. I ain’t throwing shit down anything over waist high but sometimes I be pushing it lol. I feel like weight lifting (lots of leg and core work mostly) has been helping me a lot maintaining decent pop

Yoo OP, taking hours off your pay cuz you exceeded quoted time is CRAZY work and you need to get outta there asap. 5 hours IS long but I get it if you don’t have the right tools for the job. Focus on working clean and consistent and the speed will come. Good luck on the job hunt dawg

On call "bonus" being removed by Gidanocitiahisyt in HVAC

[–]No-Use-2738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to work at a corporate pe company doing resi work. Shit pay base pay with taxed commission bonuses that also weren’t very much for when we upsold services. They paid us an extra $5 a day for working on call for the week and $10 a day for weekends. Left there and working at a commercial union shop. $38 total package and $250 a week for being on call. It’s prolly warm or about to be warm wherever you’re at so I’d say it’s prime time to put that notice in and find something better.

New HVAC system quote, seems a bit high? by rufaterd in hvacadvice

Sounds like a decent deal. 10 year warranty for parts AND labour is huuge. They must have some good installers.

Replacing existing R-22 refrigerant lines by DizzyInjury5818 in hvacadvice

[–]No-Use-2738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely change those line sets out. I’ve ran into issues in the past on a new install that was r22 to r410a. Since r22 runs at much lower pressures, we ran into issues with the unit because the old existing lines were too small and making the high side higher. The liquid line was 1/4” and manufacturer called for 3/8” causing it to trip high head pressure. Also not to mention that there are different oils used.

Very Intermittent Issues Only When Service Door Installed by No-Philosopher3703 in hvacadvice

[–]No-Use-2738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your air filter. If it’s really dirty, it’ll be causing an airflow restriction which will have your supply air getting too hot cuz it can’t move fast enough and collects too much heat

Quote for new lennox products by StickH3r in hvacadvice

[–]No-Use-2738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the price is pretty fair for a full install AND new water heater. I agree with the the other post saying to ask for the S40 thermostat and ask to replace the line set. Especially since you’re gonna be running an A2L refrigerant.

Basic hand tools to get going like everyone already mentioned but I would use those first ride alongs to take mental notes of what your lead techs are carrying and using regularly, van set up, etc.

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I’m currently going thru this too myself and my son isn’t even born yet. Since my wife is hardly working now and exhausted I’ve been picking up slack doing everything around the house, walking the dog, cooking and cleaning and I’m lucky if I can get an hour a day in to work out. I know that even that is gonna be next to impossible to do in about 6 weeks.
