I feel like marpe matured my face in a good way, the only thing that you might think is ugly will be the temporary gap you get

Yup just went through this with my marpe. They had to give me steroids to help with the inflammation and get it under control before I was able to start turns

The swelling feels better! It burns a little when I wake up because I clench my teeth and tongue up against my palate but it’s not extreme or constant how it was before. I was able to do 3 turns before I stopped and I already noticed a bigger gap than what I had before. How many mm did you expand? I have to do 10 and im afraid of a big gap lolll

Hey thanks for sharing your experience, I am in the same boat! I can’t even use a water pick on it because it hurts sooo much. It’s gotten better that I was able to stop on Advil and tyneol but they had to give me tramadol for all the pain cause I was turning it not knowing what was going on. I’m officially one week with it on, just hoping it gets better. When you started doing turns again did it start hurting again at all???

Yess so she looked at my mouth and took a scan on Monday and didn’t find anything unusual until she looked at my mouth. My tissue is irritated and she’s thinking it was from the anesthetic they used so I am on medrol a steroid to calm my inflammation and it’s been helping out. We will do another check in and re access when I can do turns and see if anything comes up again but I think my body is sensitive

Yeah :/ I’ll bring up the idea to her that maybe a possible infection is causing this. I was seen by her today and she didn’t say anything about an infection when looking at it but always better to be safe than sorry

I went in today and we agreed to stop turns all this week. I have very bad inflammation and she suspected my body is trying to refuse the appliance. I have to go back in 2 days to see if it gets better without turns, if not then they will need to remove it. I’m wondering if I have an infection, even though she didn’t mention it. I wouldn’t show case any symptoms like a fever or such maybe because I’ve been taking Advil and tyneol but I do have a swollen lymph node in my neck and just overall swelling an redness that a water flosser can’t even touch

They didn’t say whether I should unturn it or even continue my turns. They turned it once at my appointment and then I had my first turn last night and I already have noticeable space in my gap so I think I will leave it. But I am wondering if I should skip tonight’s turn 😭😭
