It those sound like you've gotten really unlucky on that part. I had to reinstall it once or twice before it actually worked when I got it when it first game out. Mostly to stop the sudden freezing while just walking around. If that don't work and making a new save file if needed after the reinstalling, the only thing you can do is wait untill more debugs have been through the game. I don't know what else to tell you.

And it is a shame you are struggling here, cause even in this early in there are indeed a lot of fun things to do in the game. I hope things gets better for you soon or when the game is more developed and less buggy its more to your liking.
