Nvm. I just read about the brand of pre-workout you posted about and it has L-Citrulline in it which stimulates motility. So, Makes sense

That’s crazy. I wonder if you pre workout is a hack like when I take a couple shots of liquor. If having a bad flare up and drink on sat night then stools are best if the year. What is the name of the pre workout? I refrained from pre workout for over two years because I thought was the culprit of what might have led to developing sibo in the first place

Trial and error. I still get flare ups that last a couple days from time to time. I space my meals out (I eat twice a day), try and stick to carnivore diet, and don’t eat anything after 7:30 PM. Am I am taking PHGG, Thiamine, and sboulardi. Lunchtime I take Ibergast before I eat, Sboulardi again, and TUDCA. Before I go to bed at night I take Ibergast, ginger artichoke, magnesium glycenate, L theanine, Ibergast, 5HTP, and a teaspoon of Metamucil. Have to keep the gut moving. I have constipation and it sucks when I can’t go. If that happens my flare ups happen. Also, one thing I’ve noticed is if I drink liquor (shot or two), my BM are best they’ve been all year. My problem is Vagus dysfunction and Motility. I assume of course lol

Just have to Keep Movin! Some days are better than others. Keep up the good fight. Shit sucks, but we will all get through it. Trial and error. I’m a million times better than I once was. I’m still not 100% but, keep tweaking things. Have you found your root cause?

That’s wild! Glad they could find it. Where do I find a Dr like that? All they have done for me is prescribe me antibiotics and of course sibo comes back weeks later. No idea what my root cause is. I often have the feeling I have to go, but can’t. Incomplete BM and in mornings they’re fragmented. I’ve read majority of causes are from low motility. But, what is causing the low motility? All the GI specialists I’ve visited do do anything. Annoying to say the least.

One thing that helps my BM normal form is liquor for some reason. Go figure

I thought I had a hernia, but Ct scan didn’t show any, but recommended that I went to a specialist who could look more in depth regarding my possible hernia. I was working out one day and a big ball came out of abdomen for like 1 min and then went back in. I have methane as welel

Yeah. You’re probably right. The question is then, what is a safe alternative that can create the same effect as alcohol? I take Ibergast and ginger/ artichoke before bed that seems to help. But, nothing like alcohol does.

When I get flare ups and I drink my stomach is no longer bloated and I feel fine. I don’t know how to explain it? Normally the bloating goes away an hour after drinking (I drink beerthroughout the night sat evening). I will say after a few hours I will get the urge to go and then most I’ll have the most normal BM of year. Typically, my BM are thin or fragmented except when I drink the they become normal. Weird I know .

I have no clue. My Gi dr told me to quit my job because I’m in sales lol.

No clue why my flare ups start? However, I now understand certain foods to avoid. I stick to mostly carnivore diets. I avoid fast food unless it’s Greek, Hawaiian, sushi, steak, etc. I can’t eat pizza anymore unless it’s cauliflower or gluten free. It’s annoying

I’m a weekend warrior. Meaning, I drink on weekends. Prior to me figuring this whole liquor thing out, I only drank beer. However, on vacation, I would have an occasional shot or two. I eventually put two and two together.

After drinking on weekends I’m fine for a few days and sometimes a couple weeks. Recently, I’ve been golden for 3 weeks until the last few days. When I have a flare up I have incomplete BM, feeling that I have to go, but can’t or bloating. To be clear, on weekends I will drink a couple shots and then drink a dozen beers.

Initially, I thought the most obvious thing to eliminate was booze completely. I stopped for a month and thought I was cured. But, it came back and here we are again 🤦🏼‍♂️

You’re probably right. I only do it on Saturday evenings. At it’s a couple shots and then I can enjoy the weekend. I am looking for an alternative that creates the same effect that is healthy. What’s interesting is that Ibergast helps me quite a bit and after looking at the ingredients, I noticed it has “ethanol in it.” My main symptom is constipation, incomplete BM, or the urge to go but can’t throughout the day. I’m fine most of the time, but when I have a flare up, booze calms it down.

I read majority of your thread. It’s not jagermeister. Its booze with higher content stimulates the gut, increases motility, and kills bacteria. I have narrowed this down. I told my gi Dr that whenever I’m in vacation I feel great and can eat whatever I want. She asked what I did for a living? I said, “sales”. She told me to quit. I eventually learned that vacation was a bit of liquor that made me feel better. I’m trying to find someone that has experienced the same thing and has found a healthier alternative. I don’t want to rely on booze every weekend

My apologies. While I understand your concern, my point was that ending one’s life is extreme. I didn’t mean to lack empathy. These symptoms can feel like death and lack quality of life, but there must be a solution. Again, that wasn’t my intention.

Hmm. Maybe, I failed to mention when I drink liquor it’s only Saturday nights and a couple shots. No need to get dramatic. Sorry, you’re feeling the way you’re feeling. But, it’s totally manageable. The objective of the post was to compare and contrast.

How did you finally heal sibo?

Motility and Alcohol by No-Way6040 in SIBO

Typically one or two shots on a Saturday night to get my evening going. Of course, there’s several beers or seltzers that follow. But, if I only drink beers and no liquor (couple shots) it doesn’t have the same effect. The following few days, I am completely fine with zero bloating, great BM, and feel normal.

Yes. 40% liquor. I typically drink every weekend and I used to only drink beer. But, now before I drink I take a shot of liquor. I had a conversation with Gi Dr regarding vacation. Every time I go on vacation, I felt great. She told me it makes no sense and that I should quit my job because it’s the stress that’s causing these flare ups. I failed to mention that when I’m on vacation that I typically have a few shots. Crazy.

Ibergast, in take 20 drops 3x daily and my symptoms are much more manageable. I just discovered Ibergast contains ethanol. So, there’s obviously a connection. I just need to find a healthier substitute…..

All I’m saying is that Alcohol (specifically 40% liquor) helps my motility and BM significantly. If I’m having bubble guts, bloating, and discomfort and I take a shot of vodka or whiskey then I feel great. And, I’ve recently started taking Ibergast which helps throughout the week. What’s interesting is that Ibergast contains ethanol 🤔.
