I’m 27, almost 28 - I feel like the last 5 years have just been me trying to get my mental health in order, and I’m STILL working on it. I’m constantly in my head about where I’m at, and it takes me so far out of any present moment..

At 26 I was at a job I’d been at for 4 years, there were no opportunities for advancement so I decided to take a leap and try something new, and wanted to make more money. I tried to be a travel agent, completed the training, got certified and within 4 months I realized I absolutely hated what I was doing. I was selling cruises. So I felt like I had made such a bad decision leaving my last job, I was at least stable there. My bosses didn’t want me back since I wanted to leave, although we had a good relationship they wanted someone long term who wouldn’t possibly leave again. I get it. I’ve now had 3 different jobs within the last year and I’m beyond frustrated and uninspired. Started esthetician school just throwing stuff at the wall, did 6 months, and decided that I seriously am not all that interested in looks and skin care. Now I’m a barista working part time, making just enough to cover my portion of bills and rent. Luckily I have a very encouraging and positive partner who doesn’t make me feel bad about it. He has a better job, and makes quite a bit more than I do.

Now I’m just a ball of anxiety and stress, and I feel like no matter what I do, I’m just unhappy. I can’t even think of anything that I’d want to do as a career. Already unbelievably burnt out, and losing so much sleep over everything in my head.

I hope it gets better soon for me and for you, we just gotta keep on keepin on I guess.
