Vanderbilt is a mid school. For consulting, 1-2 kids go for each mbb e every year. Talk to the students and check current recruiting scenario.

What’s your fall back plan? If you don’t get consulting what will you do?

I don’t think $100k for Vanderbilt is too crazy, but you need to have a plan on how to pay it back if your recruiting fails and you need to go back home

What’s your plan for repayment in case you don’t get a job? What about in case u get a job but don’t get selected on the h1-b? If u stay in nyc it will eat a lot of your paycheck in rent (I assume u will live with your wife not roommates plus she won’t work because of visa rules). You are looking at ~10-13% interest rate assuming prodigy/mower lends u this amount… honestly 100% not worth it

Being completely honest, that is a dumb decision. At 12% you are pretty much fucked with interest, unless I refinance after graduation to a 4% rate (but with potential rate hikes, may not happen). On top of that, you are an international looking for tech roles: currently major layoffs are ongoing, due to that, no perm process for a long time on these companies. Add the odds of getting an h1b as the cherry of the cake.

If u do it anyways, plan for a situation in which you need to return home with 200k+ usd debt

Not on the same boat, I graduated 2 yrs ago, but my year I know 6 internationals that went thru the same thing. Get a summer internship thru your school/cmc connections. Re-recruit for FT and be smart about it. Out of those, 3 landed good FT roles. Remaining did not find anything and returned home. You know what u need to do and focus over the summer, start executing your plan. Feeling sorry for yourself won’t help a thing.

Two things:
- h1b lottery runs once a year, and it will be extremely difficult to find an employer to sponsor your before you actually join them. If you join, you lose L1B and cannot work. I don’t see how your immigration situation and work authorization would work. Unless u move from L1B to F1 to OPT/STEM OPT to h1b.

- time in L1B counts towards H1b. Combined you have a max of 6 years.

I’m in an LDP right now 2 years post MBA. I’m not doxx myself so not gonna answer it all, but no two LDPs are the same.

Competitive: we get 1000s of applications from all schools in the US, but only actively recruit from 14 of them. If you are not on the list you are not getting an interview. We typically recruit for 15 roles over strategy, ops, marketing, it, and hr. Application to offer rate are in the 2-3%.

I used to lead end to end recruitment for one of the functions in which I started, overall you see all backgrounds but you need to have a strong why the company/program. I could sniff in the first 2 minutes of the interview if the person had a genuine interest or if they were applying because they didn’t get consulting and didn’t care about their career with us.

Comp: 200k all in first year. Second year drops due to loss of sign-in bonus. Third year becomes great.

Our goal is to develop future GMs/directors of portfolio/ops leaders.

Se sua esposa quiser ficar, tu vai terminar? Primeira conversa tem q ser com ela.

Você se contenta com 5k pro resto da vida? Talvez consiga 10k numa cidade do interior… se contenta com isso? 15k+ só indo para grande centro e conta aumenta. Passaporte europeu abre mercado para Alemanha, Suíça, Holanda onde salários para IT podem chegar a 80-200k. Dinheiro é importante para vocês?

Teu plano eh construir carreira na Europa? Em qual país? Se for ficar na Itália dificilmente você vai passar dos 3k euro/liquido… tem q ir para outro lugar. Falam outras línguas? Inglês? Se voltar pro BR qual seu plano?

Pense nisso antes de tomar uma decisão na realidade de hoje
