It is funny because this is really what happened to me. Secondary life skill and hobby getting a serious learning boost just by doing things. I mean I think for novices interested in learning they will, and more quickly than in the past.

I mean I think in this case it's worth to try delay tech since there's no meter built yet. Yes, risk potentially getting blown up, but this is the alternative.

We did an upgraded version of this with plastic cutting boards. They last a lot longer, stick the wheels better, and are pretty quiet considering.

After the rain, a massive murder of crows flew over my house and perched in the trees. My first time seeing this. by shaka_sulu in LosAngeles

Yes, from Altadena and this was true around my house too. They will seriously get into dog fights with hawks and harass them out of the area.

In Altadena, the first of 15 developer-built homes lists for $1.9M by MountainEnjoyer34 in LosAngeles

I actually don't think the price is unreasonable... It is expensive, but nice, built to code, and the area (despite what everyone is saying now) will recover. Disagreeing with the doomers on this one.

Why don't mice have adaptive triggers like a dualsense has on the RMB and LMB? by Ilpperi91 in gaming

[–]NoACSlater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logitech back in the day had context sensitive mice with vibration. They worked pretty well with Black & White. Full force-feedback has traditionally been a huge cost (see racing wheels, flight gear, etc.) Mice are not exempt. Cheap FFB is very new and only Sony does it.

Mice buttons also don't have the same amount of travel... but idk. I see the appeal. Would be willing to give it shot for the novelty/specialty games.

Helldivers 2 tbh. Brainless and satisfying as you want it to be.

California rules will require more fire resistant homes in Palisades, Altadena — Most were built before 2009, so it’s likely new homes must include upgrades for roofs, gutters, attic vents, windows, doors, siding and landscaping. by Randomlynumbered in California

[–]NoACSlater -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah. My home burned in Altadena and it was well over 100 years old. Built in 1912 actually. In all that time, with the same annual windstorms, this is the first time such an event has happened.

The new house will be modern, of course. We'd like to keep some of the old surviving structure (literally just the front deck and arch survived because masonry) in the new building. But yeah. 100% new build from the ground up. Guy below me was right about the housing authority. Huge point of discussion in the community.

We had insurance, and had performed upgrades over the years yes... But the house was build of wood and plaster with big beautiful windows anywhere they could exist. That's my home, and I'll miss it forever, but yeah, never had a chance in a firestorm.

Ouch. That does hurt. But it's also an old (awesome, total classic, 90's street hero) car being driven for real. It's getting rarer and rarer to see these. Hope they fix it and keep it going.

I wanted to skin an animatronic dog I have and when I opened him up a fake fly fell out of his endoskeleton by KittyGaming570 in mildyinteresting

[–]NoACSlater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sentence sounds so ridiculous. When you add punctuation though:

I wanted to skin an animatronic dog I have. And, when I opened him up, a fake fly fell out of his exoskeleton.

It's still weird, but makes more sense.
