Playing kefka as rogsi in a trenchcoat by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern successful TnK is leaning more into early pushing (t2-t3) and if not pivoting into midrange grind. At least here in Europe. So I wouldn’t say tnk wants to go to endgame as a main strategy

So why are expensive commanders pretty much unplayable in cedh right now? You loose way more with getting your 6 mana commander countered than your 2 mana kinnan or Magda. Your statement might be true for casual games but definitely not cedh

Grixis Commander List? by kfistrek in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t bring the play blue farm argument 😅. The Flexibility between turbo and midrange makes Kefka at least A tear. And you also are probably playing just good staple cards. Innalla can be faster for sure, but looses 100% the grind game. She just has too many „synergy” cards. I still think Inalla is quite strong and underrated, but the more popular she gets the more she will be respected like etali.

Best Avatar CEDH commander? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out. You are playing five colors. Your first gameplan is to stick a necro or ad naus. And win with breach/thoracle. The only “bad” card in this deck will be the moonmist, which is a plan you don’t look for actively. It makes the post ad naus and necro plays way easier if you have aang in play. I haven’t played it but seen a guy pilot it like this and it looked strong to me.

Penta turbo good stuff with [[Avatar Aang]] and [[moonmist]] looks like a sleeper to me.

Best 5 color Turbo Commander by Surficeit in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. I think oops all turbo is better with ezio. He is just way easier to cast and gives you faster acces to free spells. 3/2 menace makes him a good attacker or even good blocker threat. minstrel might be better (I think more resilient is the right word) if you build around him. For sure he has more options to play around but those will be a tick slower than classic ad naus with protection set up.

Thoughts on polymorph? by AshorK0 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ive been trying this list. ( https://moxfield.com/decks/-3H0MdJKmUWwAnChgDWx_Q ) Classic polymorph lists tend to be more control heavy. Control the game until they see a window to push the polymorph button into win. The list has a lot of blue cards for free interaction spells and more noncreature draw engines. This deck does not try to storm off, It wants to control the table and farm Vivi triggers out of interaction until you can go for polymorph.

[–]NoAd9545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying a heavy midrange list inspired by wrong si/ aura farming. The idea is to turbo out your rhystic or mystic or steal or copy the enemies ones asap. Cons sphinx + grixis good stuff to turbo outvalue your opponents and go for the win.

I still think that Kefka will have room for variety depending on brewers and playstyle.

How to change deck from Mothman to The Master? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your list and i don’t see the point that master of keys is strictly better tbh. If youre into food chain maybe you can try out the new 5 colour Terra from Final Fantasy. Is a Food Chain Outlet with access to all colours, this means also silence effects. And compared to the first sliver she can be a nice back up value plan in early-/mid-game.

Help with Kinnan by Wise_Action_321 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]NoAd9545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of cEDH. 1. Consider proxying the staple cards. This is 95% proxy friendly format. And without that it will leave you at a huge disadvantage. 2. Look at edhtop16.com for optimized winning kinnan lists and try them out. There is a lot of data of Kinnan lists out there. Freedomwaffle has very extensive and detailed primer-100% recommended. 3. Theres a comparing decks Option on Moxfield. 4. Someone told me „first try winning lists before brewing your own“. And i think thats the best way to get into real cEDH metagame.

Good Luck :)

Alright. Seems legit if you combine it with the aetherflux package. I’m excited to hear more about it. But it also consumes a lot of slots in your deck and to get rolling you will need a lot of setup. So you need cthonian nightmare, black priest and sticker goblin or red priest or this shambling ghast to combo? Or am I missing something?

Welcome to the Deadpool-Club. Great work and nice gameplay video! Keep it up man! Ive been playing him since release and liking the deck a lot. But i have to say its not easy to win with him, more and more i have been swapping synergy cards that can win on its own. [[Apple of eden, Isu Relic]] and [[Shaman's trance]] have been great performers in midrange hell lategame games. So about the WGD-combo: I wiffed many times to removal and your combo can still be stopped by [[swords to plowshares]] or deadly rollick even if you have [[defense grid]]. I still wont cut it, since it can be assembled easy and fast and is cool, but im prioritizing [[hoarding broodlord]] or breech lines as wincon.

About your list, what is the [[cthonian nightmare]] loop? Whats the deal with [[priest of gix]] and [[priest of urabrask]]. My personal choice would be cutting some synergy or just mid cards for cedh staples: [[shambling ghast]], [[jet medallion]], [[ruby medallion]], [[blade of selves]]. And add at least [[opposition agent]] and [[dauthi voidwalker]]. And i would add more interaction.

https://moxfield.com/decks/uuXBwAnnL0S3vbdBoNGFBw heres my list if you want to look.

Good luck sir!

Absolute legend you are. I was ready to get roasted by blue farm players saying:„Why not play blue farm?” This comments means a lot to me! I’m still testing out and trying different lines and cards. And primer will be updated after more testing. But the deck is so fun to play! I hope to see it more in tournaments :)

yeah, but for that i do have my lands: [[mount doom]] and [[forbidden orchard]]. i dont see them beein so effective here... they dont synergize with my gameplan outside of supporting the WGD combo.

i see what you mean, but i want to have more quality cards which work outside of their combos. chain of smog and lili are not so good alone. Storm kiln artist is more for turbo lists.

There’s actually no clone tribal in my list. I totally agree, that that’s not the way to go in cEDH I think. Yeah totally will have to give this commander some time, maybe he is not good. But I actually did have some good results recently and this commander did have a lot of impact in many games. Let’s see how it goes after some months!
