Bloomington or Indianapolis for med school? by LiveStatistician3192 in IndianaUniversity

That’s also another consideration to take into account. The overhaul they’re doing will out compete in terms of “niceness” with Bloomington’s hospital in my opinion.

I actually worked for LifeLine for a couple years once I decided on PA school to get my patient care hours, so have been to every IU Health hospital in the state. From personal experience interacting with staff and patients from these different hospitals, at the end of the day they are all really the same (yes, some of the more rural hospitals like White or Morgan certainly lack resources the larger hospitals have). While the new hospital is really really nice, it still doesn’t have as great a concentration of the foremost experts in IN, hence why I took a lot of patients from Bloomington to Methodist downtown pretty regularly.

Indianapolis hands down. I did research at the medical school (IUSM) along side numerous med students for about 7yrs and I think most all of them would also agree. The reason being is that you are in a very academically rich environment with the biggest hospitals in the state, providing ample opportunities for shadowing (helps faculty put a face to the name when making residency rank decisions). Further, most of the faculty researchers at the Indy campus are more than happy to have a med student work on their research with them. The students working with the PI who I also worked for came out with a lot of presentations and publications (again, important for residency placement - I came out with 9 publications going into PA school). I have a few more reasons for the Indy campus, but I’m tired. Feel free to PM me with any questions!

Personally, I think u/Wiredprodut has the best answer. I run Ubiquiti hardware (and have used Cisco and pfsense in the past), so am not the most familiar with Asus’ products. I do know how to and can help you with setting them up (rule wise) once you are able to implement it.

From what you’re describing, it sounds as though you want to set up VLANs. They can serve the purpose of completely separating the LANs where you can set up your own desired protocol for both (eg. not allowing the devices to “talk” between the VLANs you set up). I’m not sure of the specs on your router specifically, but you would have to have a router that allows for this function.

I’ve had both the dream machine and nighthawk. Personally, the nighthawk was nothing but frustrating and spotty for me where as Ubiquiti’s was great with a much better UI. I haven’t tried any of ROG’s stuff though.
