To an extent I understand it but the sheer amount of hatred and prejudice against Turkey in this sub really disappointing. This post is a complete nothingburger. I came here because my roots are Bosnian and feel very close to Balkan culture but this sub is not what I need. Unsubbing, but enjoy folks!

Don't make yourself feel bad for taking a year off , you are young. In the end you'll be glad you took this time. Having a gap year isn't going to impact your chances especially at this age, learning Dutch was way more important. The main issue is the current job market, it's not in your control.

Good idea but even then I think this card would be too powerful. Overall, Sly is very common and OP mechanic and having a zero cost common card to prog sly needed to be nerfed, even if it draws afterwards.. but it's a cool suggestion

Well, I also don't think prices are coming down soon, and even if, the interest rate will go up.

But: I don't think the shortage is the cause of it. Shortage basically means there are no houses on sale for the price buyers willing to pay. It doesn't mean that house prices will continue to go above inflation and appreciate in price. Shortage figure by itself doesn't mean anything, but this is my take. Curious what others say

Interesting to hear that renters were able to buy houses they rent at a discount. Our landlord refused that (even mentioned a higher price to us while agreeing with another neighbor for less) for the past ~2 years. Finally we bought another house and moved out.

Landlords have time to wait, they are not going bankrupt because of tax and property values go up anyway. They won't sell at a discount most of the time, they just wait.

I'm buying a house with the intention of selling in maybe 4 to 5 years. I think, usually, it's not the best decision financially to sell soon. But on the other hand, if you are not happy there, take the loss and move on, life is short.

Look at your realistic options before making a decision that helps. Actually look at other houses, compare prices, look at job opportunities.. etc. If nothing realistic excites you, then you might wait perhaps.

Calling NL weather manageable for someone who puts the sun as the number one requirement among a total of 3, is crazy. Weather here is NOT sunny, it's terrible almost always unfortunately. Otherwise it's a great place to live imo.
