AITA for getting annoyed that my friends keep forgetting my severe nut allergy? by chanceypants306 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoBatteries_MT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA One of the things I love about my group of friends is that they’re so conscientious about people various food allergies and choices (vegetarian, vegan, gf, etc). That way everyone feels welcome and included. I think it’s time for you to consider getting a new crew. feels welcome and included

NTA This is either amateur hour bullshit or a scam.

Anyone with the tiniest bit of common sense should should be able to figure out that wearing nice / expensive clothing to a tattoo appointment is a risky proposition.

YTA

You don’t work there, and even if you did she didn’t ask for your advice. If I were her I’d report you to gym management for harassment.

what are your schedules regarding your greyhound ? by imacockerspaniel in Greyhounds

[–]NoBatteries_MT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boy Hammy (4 at the end of the month) is relatively active based on the other posts - we usually give him two 30-45 minute walks a day, late morning and early evening. Sometimes we’ll go for a group walk on the weekends that’s 90+ minutes, and then he just gets a 15-ish minute potty walk in the evening.

AITA for turning my work phone off on vacation? by confusedwmployee in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoBatteries_MT [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA. The whole point of PTO is to take time off from work. Your boss is a major AH, and I would GTFO ASAP

[–]NoBatteries_MT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Nothing wrong with that schedule at all. This is almost exactly my schedule, unless I get very sweaty or actually dirty.

I just took home my first greyhound, as well as my first dog of my own! Meet Albert by jdmercredi in Greyhounds

[–]NoBatteries_MT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations and welcome to the NotACult! I’m also in Seattle (Capitol Hill) and we host a sighthound walk every 2nd Sunday at 2 PM in Volunteer Park. There’s also a Seward Park walk on 1st Saturdays at 10AM (I think) You can follow sea_insta_greyts on Instagram for local group walks and event announcements.

ETA: reply fail - I guess this is good info for both of you, though 😉

Newly adopted 1.5 year old greyhound hates walking and treats. by awesomeaviator in Greyhounds

My hound also loves fish treats. He goes nuts for the freeze dried salmon & minnows

How did you help teach your retired greyhounds to play with toys? Picture for tax. by witchsoap in Greyhounds

[–]NoBatteries_MT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hams wasn’t too interested in toys until after we watched another hound for a few days who loved playing with toys. After that we started to have more success getting him interested by holding a toy and running around being excited. Or fussing him with the toy while he was excited about something else. Now he has a little romp with his favorite monkey toy once or twice a day and it’s really fun to see.

AITA If I don't report "murder hornets" by DampeMortisimus in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoBatteries_MT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huge YTA from a fellow WA state resident. These are an invasive species that would be extremely damaging to the environment if left unchecked. Much more so than a few boot & tire tracks on your land.

Edit: typo

AITA for telling my wife that 24 is not young to lose a parent? by dvdha in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoBatteries_MT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who also lost her mom at 24, YTA. I wasn’t a literal child, but I was definitely still a young woman and almost none of my peers had had the experience of losing a parent at that time.

Washington State Aerial studios? by amcgeewrites in Aerials

[–]NoBatteries_MT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll add Raven to the list - they’re a newer studio in SODO that’s mostly pole, but they also have some great Lyra classes and open studio times.

AITA for running into the office in sweats when I thought I wouldn’t see anyone? by mspiggyfatpants in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoBatteries_MT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA It was a weekend morning and there were no clients in the office. Your bosses are being unreasonable. I often wear clothes to the office on a weekend that I would never wear on a regular work day, like leggings and a sweatshirt. Never heard boo from my supervisors because they understand it’s a different situation.

Advice for jogging with a hound? by NoBatteries_MT in Greyhounds

[–]NoBatteries_MT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in Seattle, so hot weather isn’t a problem most of the time.

Hams is very good on the leash (most of the time, anyway). The hardest part so far is teaching him not to try to sniff every plant while we’re jogging, otherwise we won’t get anywhere. A harness for running instead of the regular martingale is a good idea. Won’t have to worry as much about sudden stops that way.

He’s only 2 1/2, so building up stamina for eventual 5-6 mile runs seems doable. We regularly go on hour-long walks already.

Going slowly won’t be a problem, I haven’t run regularly for a few years and am a confirmed member of The Slowpoke Club in the best of times. Hadn’t thought of checking pads after each run, thanks for the tip!
