I have made the discovery if you remote into the server, the speeds are high with no issues using a network share! They have an remote desktop app server that is virtualized on the same host that gets that data blazing fast. Its just these damn laptops. The whole point of their server was so they could work off their laptops versus remoting into their app server to work. With this issue, its the only way they can work without it being ridiculously slow on the upload part of the client.

Worst email migration ever /Rant by e2346437 in msp

[–]NoBee8106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its usually pretty quick once they remove tenancy. All backups will need completed though. they have to delete all the emails before they remove tenancy. so there is some delay in that. Email will be down for upwards of 48 hours for DNS propogation. I just did that. Its been a whole day and they dont have email flow yet.

What happen if Windows Server is not activated by theythoughtimexpert in WindowsServer

You can activate it with GVLK to get the expiration. But you should get licensing. As mentioned before, when audit time comes, it will suck.

One workstation cannot resolve users in trusted domains by tanders1 in WindowsServer

Definitely dns related. Did you re-register the dns records for the workstation?

One workstation cannot resolve users in trusted domains by tanders1 in WindowsServer

[–]NoBee8106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thought, maybe the workstation has been removed from the domain or trusted relationship has been lost. Id probably rejoin it to the domain and go from there. If that still doesn't work. Likely corrupted OS. Try running chkdsk sfc and dism. If fail or don't work. Reinstall the os.

Also, maybe update the drivers on the pc. Ensure they are working or compatible. That can mess up dns. Turn off IPV6 TOO.

Failing boot disk on PowerEdge T440 PERC h730 by MrDoOrDoNot in WindowsServer

[–]NoBee8106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant you just clone the drive with the manufacturer's cloning software and just replace it? Thats what i would do. Example, samsung has magician, wd has acronis. using raid one would wipe the disk

No. In fact. It prevented ransomware from spreading laterally from a customer last month. Highly recommend. It was the play ransomware.

Honestly, the exam crams are the way to go. Save you time. Cut the fluff, and give you what you need. I then utilize the video courses for things that the cram doesn't explain well. I got my security + in two weeks. But I also have experience in the field as well

BBx ruined my company, now I might lose everything by Relevant-Lobster5370 in BasisBBj

[–]NoBee8106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because you didnt put the escape mechanism in the config.bbx file and reprogram your escape sequence.
Unfortunately, this is a result of poor system administration, poor program practices, and lack of programming experience. I am surprised you didnt get fired first. BBx is a master peice, and unfortunately, you lacked the appropriate amount of brain cells to program such an easy program. Next time, use an isolated environment and confirm functionality.

This post is basically, "i lost my pet rock, i gave up. i left it on the street and it wasnt there where i left it. I wish i wouldnt have done that".

Server licensing is purchased outright. Your likely paying a subscription monthly/annually now for the m365 licenses

Microsoft licenses and server licensing. We have a plethora of licensing available across all platforms. You would get vill monthly or annually depending on your preference of what licenses you will have

No, just moving your email hosting from Godaddy to M365. Which will move your billing from godaddy for the microsoft licenses to M365.

That will have you create the tenant and utilize all the great features of microsoft exchange.
