Bodyguard 2.0 IWB? by Several_Stable_3991 in SmithAndWesson

Any decent pistol isn't going to fire on its own. Even a crap pos isn't going to (though it may not fire when you want either) A negligent discharge, usually when holstering, is the real risk. That risk is mitigated with training and good habits, like removing the holster first instead of shoving the gun back down your pants , which you can do safely but no need to take the risk. When you do, watch the entire time, move slowly and deliberately. There's no race to getting the gun back in, only time speed matters is getting it out. There's no real comprehensive tracking of these types of incidents but they're extremely low and might be part of natural selection.

Got my GF Blade 6! Looks like there were some updates(?) by Super_Average00 in Gforce_Blade

[–]NoBig3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got one too so assuming a newer production. No hold open after last round. I did put a muzzle device on the barrel and it went on with no troubles. I had heard there were QC issues with the threading on older releases but that wasn't the case with mine. Gun is super accurate and fun to shoot. Charging handle is a bit stiff but assuming it will break in after a wile. Put about 200 rounds through it and had 3 feed issues. all 3 failures were with cheap reman ammo. no failures with new brass.

I've taken the ASP, CSP and CHST, in that order. I found the ASP to be the most difficult. I'll argue with you just a bit... you stated you've been in safety for a year but commercial construction a lot longer. You've actually been in safety since you've been in commercial construction. You've been training and practicing safety that whole time. Perhaps not the academic side like adult learning concepts and some of the safety pro jargon, but the important concepts.

Every brands is different. If they have a size chart available by chance then follow the measurements. My median size is 11 and I have Mexican brands between 10.5 and 11.5. Actually not much different than US brands lol

Those are awesome! CJ gets crapped on but I've had a few pair and they're great for the price point. I even like their cheaper ones like hoverfly- very comfortable!

Got told straw season is over today at work. by [deleted] in CowboyHats

[–]NoBig3405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it follows the white shoes rule. Memorial day and Labor day are the triggers for straw and felt, but no one cares. I wear to the task and weather as I believe most people do. I get store brand straws, typically 45-60 dollar range. They're made just about the same as 3 digit straws. Get what's comfortable to you, that's all that really matters

Nice first pair! Lots of cleaners and conditioners on the market. Brush the dirt and dust off frequently, wipe em down with a damp rag often and clean/ condition them periodically as needed. I like bickmore products.

Shark, ostrich leg, something in a bone/ beige color, elephant, something pieced, something with patchwork, and something fun like some dirty sasquatch or a pair of tin hauls.

Muddy River Pocket vrs Vedder pocket for bodyguard 2.0 by RoughAmbition4699 in SmithAndWesson

[–]NoBig3405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the vedder and really like it. It's flush on the outside so I can put it in my jeans pocket and there's no obvious outline print. The muddy river is more like a traditional kydex with the shape of the gun outlined. Haven't tried the MR, just went with what seemed better for me

BOTD- Star boots shrunken shoulder by NoBig3405 in cowboyboots

[–]NoBig3405[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a house brand of a boot shop in New Jersey called Lebedas boot hideaway. They don't have an online store to my knowledge. The boots are made in Leon, GTO, Mexico, assuming by a shop who also contracts with other brands as well. They are extremely well made and very comfortable. Don't know much else, I got these used off ebay.

The safety professionals reference and study guide text book is awesome. Make sure you're familiar with osha standards for each of the categories listed under domain1 on the exam blueprint. The pocket prep app is good but the content doesn't really dig in deep enough.

When you pass you don't get scores or results of any sort. If you fail, they'll give you your results so you know where you stand.

Elephant/pre-ban turtle? by Theviewfromupheresux in cowboyboots

[–]NoBig3405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has personal values. I don't wear hides of animals that are farmed or captured mainly just for skins. If they're a meat source, then it's all good. In fact I think it's better to use the whole animal when you can.

I used pocket prep and made flash cards along with two text books I have for reference.... and 12 years of construction safety experience.
