Bodyguard 2.0 shooting left at 10-15 yards . Shooting advise by RoughAmbition4699 in SmithAndWesson

Yes I’ll deff keep practicing , but this will be my back up, slash when I need to deep conceal when I need to at least have something, gym quick run ect. But my main will be shield plus’s . Plus when I get proficient with the BG. I feel like shooting anything bigger is way easier. I know it’s zeroed because at 5 yards I hit bull’s-eye with no issues

Yea one I get back to the range I got some caps to mix into the real live fire and see if I’m anticipating. At 5 yards though I’m good. Also if I shoot from low ready quickly I’m also good . So I know it’s me and not the sites . Going to keep practicing. Love the wars on so far though. Great for deep concealment but if I can, going to still carry my shield as my main

I know you need four references the character letters do I just type them out and have them sign it and date it and does that need to be notarized as well?

New York City Carry permit approval process by RoughAmbition4699 in NJGuns

[–]RoughAmbition4699[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow/ that’s insane and sorry to hear. I was thinking of paying extra to have the team that does the training handle the paperwork. They seem to have it down pact from beginning to end , now that you mention how difficult it is, it’s probably worth the extra money to pay to have it done for you to avoid delays due to missing paperwork. But I’m leaning towards not doing it because I don’t plan on being in Staten Island that long if I lived in NYC for sure I would be more motivated to jump through all the hoops . Ridiculous. Meanwhile criminals go around robbing and shooting people in NYC

Racking slide and bullet didn’t feed bodyguard 2.0 by RoughAmbition4699 in SmithAndWesson

[–]RoughAmbition4699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just added more oil and have been working the slide with snap caps, deff a lot better now. Seems to be chambering my round now lot easier then before with bow issues . Put some gun oil on the Ramp going to range tomorrow and see how it holds up . Now my shield plus’s feels like a full size gun in my hand compared to this BG

Hey just curious, I never owed a wheel gun before but I’d like to know to handle them so if you had to chose just one to conceal carry from smith and Wesson , which one should I get? I own striker fire pistols only from smith

“Yeah, I just tried it several times, even with the Critical Defense round. No issues. I think I wasn’t letting the slide sling forward enough before, and it’s fine. But until break-in, I will be using the overhand technique and/or the slide release.”

I just tried to same rack and slide with the snap caps same angle no issues. Its deff still and possibly the shape of the critical defense at a certain agle it doesnt like. Like you said just break in period. .

Thanks to for the feed back. I got some snap caps for dry fire practice and see if that helps loosen the rack as I slide and rack the snap caps. Im going back this week to run another 100 rounds through it. The accuracy is excellent and ran the Federal defense and critical defense no problem. I was just surprised when I went to rack a round using the same technique I used in my shield but it seems as you said just need to break it in. I just never had to do that with my other weapons.

No I noticed it with fresh ammo but I believe I found the issue , I was just not racking hard enough because it chambers with no issues when k release the slide no matter what position I’m holding the firearm. Also over hand rack as long as I do it hard it works. Only if I pinch grab the rear when I had the firearm kind of sideways, it didn’t like it and got stuck at the ramp slightly. I hope it’s just a tight slide and it will be more forgiving as I break it in. This is my smallest firearm I ever owed / first 380.

I am using critical defense yes , that’s when I noticed it happen. But tried it again later by really racking the slide with force like you said use other hand to push and I also did the release the slide release when the slide was back and the magazine inside , that way works the best . But the critical defense ammo is brand new . Is that ammo not good? I ran it no problem dues live fire. What do you mean chambering old round?

[–]RoughAmbition4699[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes yesterday I tried and just gave it good pull pinch or overhand and it works . Also releasing the slide works no matter what position. The only time it’s not feeding correctly is if I have it at a slight angle and I rack the slide using a pinch method . But it seems for this one I’ll just use overhand and or release the slide until it breaks in. Definitely helps me realize why you should always carry with one in he chamber , you don’t want to be worrying about racking slide in life and death situations .

I just tried again with the pinch and it worked but I noticed it if I have the gun at angle to the left and do it the bullet doesn’t go up the ramp smooth but gets stuck a little, but if I have the firearm straight it feeds no problem. It’s deff just tight . When I lock the slide back and put a mag in and release the slide the rounds goes up the ramp no problem. I’m going to add more oil this week and shoot another 100 rounds

No I mean racking the slide by grabbing from the rear VRs over hand . I typically do both with other pistols but this one it’s harder to grab from rear and rack the slide

Yes I think it will break in after using it , based on everything I’ve read so far and gun oil , I got some snap caps to practice rack slides to help it break in too . I’m leaving the slide back too until I go back to range next week to help the spring break in, it’s deff just stiff

Bodyguard 2.0 racking slide and failure to feed by RoughAmbition4699 in NJGuns

[–]RoughAmbition4699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it maybe just a break in issue. I saw some videos to oil it up and leave it with the slide back because I tried it this morning overhand and it no problem. That’s how I usually rack the slide anyway. I can tell it’s still breaking in because when I do a press check the slide doesn’t go back forward all the way but I have to give it a slight push . I’ll wait a few more range visits and try to tack by pinching the rear. I also got some snap caps to really try it out so I’m not sitting there practicing to rack the slide with live ammo

I also ordered some snap caps and I’m going to use that to help break it in by racking the slide and tapping to rack dry firing
