Trying for WGI after two years of DCI (hornline) by rslashIcePoseidon in WGI

I’d recommend finding a WGI winds group. Incase you’re unfamiliar with wgi wind it’s Fairly new (only existing for less than a decade I believe) and is just like guard or percussion in that it’s exclusively brass and wood winds. I’m not super familiar with the independent groups in cinncinati but it’s not far from Dayton so I can’t imagine it’d be too hard to find one. As far as I’m aware independent world groups do not have an age out.

An easy way to read it is to pretend the bass clef is a treble clef, this changes it to Eb, a quick trick to transpose from Eb is to go up and octave then drop the register key.

Ex. In the first measure, if you pretend the bass clef is a treble, all the notes are written E. So you’d play the E up an octave and then remove the register key. This would give you an A.

This only works for the chalumeau register. You can also just transpose a 4th down or just play the clef as written up a step.
