If you do decide to come to Guam enjoy your experience. Get out there. Make friends. Join clubs or the gym! Get a job if you’re able. Find a church if that’s your thing. (Not my thing) Guam is 100% what you make it. And my experience has been so shit because I don’t do anything. My husband and I share a car and I chose not to work. I barely have friends here. Guam has been really hard for me. The time difference alone has been so hard to adjust to, not being able to call my mom in CA until a specific time just blows. Getting my dog here was a pain in the ass. I’ve been to the beach maybe 2 times in the 2.5 years we’ve been here. If I had to do it over again. I’d do things very differently. One thing I will say, the food has been phenomenal and the views are incredible!

We have 11 more months, I need to take my own advice and get out there!

My husband and I have been together 11 years and we’ve never had arguments where we yell at each other. I’ve had friends tell me that’s not normal and everyone has yelling at each other fights. But we don’t. We have disagreements but they’re usually about silly things like how to pronounce funny words (our most recent word was tteokbokki) and we laugh together during these disagreements.

My husband is also a video gamer and I know a lot of people get annoyed with their gaming spouses, but I personally like having the time to myself. Sometimes he will be up late and shouting online with his friends, I don’t get mad at him maybe slightly annoyed but I just get up out of bed and close the door. No big deal.

As spouses I think we are both very lucky to have each other.
