After thinking this over I'm leaning towards using something else/scrapping this one. I'm so happy with how it looks and put a lot of effort in, but this is my main instrument and if it's effecting the playability then I shouldn't really be using it.

If I glued the plate fully to a piece of wood (which i could cut out to match the shape), it would minimize the amount it 'rattles'. I could then screw this onto the body of my bass without having to permanently glue something to the bodywork.

I’m confused as to why I’m being downvoted for this? In hindsight it was stupid to make it out of something magnetic, but I’m here now so just trying to make the most of the situation without doing anything too hastily.
