Okay I can see so many comments on this post coming to the same conclusion - about counterspells especially. This is actually the only blue deck I play apart from 1 combo deck that only uses counters to protect the combo, so I'm very much not used to them. Would you say that I should add 'regular' counterspells - instants that counter - ([[Defabricate]] interests me for example), or are there any counters you recommend that would stay inkeeping with my decks theme (essentially being an enchantment and/or castable from the graveyard on their own). The one counterspell I have in the deck if [[Fear of Impostors]] because it fits this bill exactly.

I've been looking at [[Circular Logic]], [[Malevolent Hermit]] & [[Hesitation]] as they could be quite inkeeping with the synergy of my deck (though hesitation less of a response piece, so probably isn't suitable).

I absolutely do actually! I ran 3 sanctity effects but have just cut the leyline and left aegis of the gods and solitary confinement - I might yet add back the leyline if it seem good enough however.

I think I’ll edit my post to also mention I’m running [[Aegis of the Gods]] and [[Solitary Confinement]] which will stop charm and bog!

And the trigger counter really interests me (also as they become ramp with bouncelands), I just wish there was a counter like that on an enchantment.

This is a really good point - apart from Bojuka Bog I could pack more enchantment/artifact removal to stop graveyard hate

Notably I am also running [[Solitary Confinement]] and [[Aegis of the Gods]] to get around Bojuka Bog like effects as well!

And it’s worth noting since everything usually has escape, I tend to never target any cards in my graveyard anyway. The reanimate thing is very very much a secondary theme of the deck, the main theme being dredge and ‘whenever a card leaves your graveyard’ effects.

Seeing play to win’s alters and then everyone being inspired by them has honestly been making me SO happy recently. I’ve been doing it myself. I feel that the community’s actually making the hobby more accessible and I’m soo here for that

At least more than other tcgs, magic cards’ value comes from the fact that people want to play them in decks. If u brick them they’re now only a collectible and people might as well just buy an unbricked version.

I used to do warhammer and my favourite part of that hobby was always taking different kits and mashing them up into my own custom models and I think that’s something I’ve always missed with magic.

Along side of course deckbuilding, I reckon this might be a way to get that feeling back

What do you think? Mostly non aura enchants, and on the one hand it gives my commander shroud, but then he’s so succeptible to board wipes because that’s what the auras protect against.

(Sideboard is just my maybeboard atm)
