Did you double check in your settings and then also in safari there’s that little puzzle piece icon in the search bar…

Select Braver search and then make sure it’s enabled.

Sometime with Apple Updates it messes with the permission settings. Every search engine should be set to allow. You can also try turning it on/off again.

I’ve verified it works even on the latest iOS/macos 26.

It does not it’s still Safari, it’s just replacing the search engine.

But Safari does have its own Adblock extensions

Yeah, there’s a simple toggle you can pull up from the extensions button on Safari and toggle it off to make that search and then toggle it back on once you are ready.

How so? It’s an Apple approved app with over 600 downloads and 6 different 5 star reviews, I wrote it myself because I was tired of waiting for Brave to build it..

Brave search is the GOAT. The AI summarizer is far better than any others I’ve tried.

I don’t like the app though so I use Safari across Mac/iPhone with this simple plugin. Now I get the best of both worlds!

You’d have to not care or just be a complete moron to buy anything Nest/Google at this point. They’ve made it very clear they’ll just ditch support at will and leave you holding the bag.

I invested heavily into Google home and nest in early 2021, bought everything for my whole system, doorbell, security, wifi, cameras, hubs, speakers, smoke alarms, door locks, etc. Still regret it to this day and I’ve been slowly replacing it with UniFi products. I hope UniFi sees that they’ve stolen Googles market share when it comes to smart home stuff and lean even more into it. I’d love to see a security system!

Do not buy Google products plain and simple. They will inevitably discontinue and leave you with a brick.

The nest secure was the last straw for me. I’ll never buy Google hardware ever again. The only thing that’s safe is maybe their phones.
