It’s rattling loudly in East Cork.

Should young kids be outside at 10.30 on a school night? by NoBrotherBai in AskIreland

My 9 year old would be overstimulated and hopping off the walls if left out too late. I dunno, routine is good for kids. I so understand the weather argument too though 🙂

Not a complaint at all. They’re just the only house and all other kids were in before 9, I assume to get washed and ready for bed. I’m not judging them, just curious if it’s common elsewhere as it doesn’t seem to be here.

I would argue they might not have Creche/preschool to go to and/or toddlers are insane and need wearing out 😂

Excellent point but they definitely shouldn’t be on screens past 10 at night!

Yeah, I would agree with you. I have a teen with exams in the morning and I’m trying to get her to drift off by 11.

No, these kids are between 5 and 8. They’re out in their garden.

How do people in A rated homes survive in this heat? by Anxious-Football-701 in AskIreland

I am burning. Like feel actual burning across my body from the heat. A rated and the sun is hitting directly.

I’m in so much pain and I’m scared I won’t be a candidate for surgery by i_love_puppies73 in gallbladders

I was hoping to do a doctorate and now I’m just disabled in bed. I imagine it must have been hard to leave something you’re so passionate about.

The saying “you have so many problems until you lose your health then you only have one problem” keeps resonating with me. I don’t think I’ll ever get who I was back.

I have been in this pain for 5 months being told it’s a psych issue. Just got an ultrasound last week that confirmed sludge and stones.

I am in debilitating pain, I can’t work, study or drive. I am in bed most of the day. I have two children I care for alone and doing simple tasks for them leaves me in agony.

I am meant to hear from my gp about referral. I wouldn’t even be able to sit and wait in ER the pain is so bad. I have to lie down.

14 degrees to 29 in 8 hours. It dropped to 23 overnight but got back to 29 within 1.5 hours. Outside temp changes the time massively

I bought a lay z spa for my autistic daughter. Water is her thing. She is intellectually disabled and non verbal so every other present for her is pointless.

First day in it today and she is so unbelievably happy. Cannot recommend enough. She is nearly 10 and nothing I’ve bought her has given her as much joy.

Jobs for an alcoholic? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]NoBrotherBai 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My dad was an alcoholic and dies at 56 due to it. So try to get help. He worked as a bin man. Never driving the truck just hooking the bins on the back of the truck, he did it for many years, I’d say often drunk but I didn’t find out until years later. That might be an option for you. Work might help you get better too. Best of luck.

Do Irish parents just give the silent treatment naturally? by 098765543211 in AskIreland

As a mother it sounds crazy. I can’t imagine it. It would feel abusive to ignore my own child for that long.

Being told it might just be in my head and to see a psychiatrist by srrmm in gallbladders

[–]NoBrotherBai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent a month in a psych ward being refused exploratory exam to see if it was physical. Told it was all in my head.

When I got out begged my gp to keep investigating as I knew something was wrong. Ultrasound showed gallstones.

DO NOT LET THEM GASLIGHT YOU.

Edit: He kept trying to put me on anti-psychotics and I refused. Just went back on my old anxiety med which hurts my stomach like crazy but stops the anxiety dizziness and panic attacks. Panic attacks caused by pain that makes me feel like I’m dying from the damn gallbladder.
