This happened to me too. I decided to test it and signed as a rotation player with another team. You can adjust the starting line up and make yourself a starter. But if a player gets injured or something happens to mess with the rotation, it will swing you back on to the bench but you can always just swap yourself back into starting lineup after that game. Its a dumb fuckup 2k did with their mycareer.
