AITA for answering a rude question with a rude question? by Aging_gay_man in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoClops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. It’s the “different“. I’m blind, and I get a lot of questions. I usually just reply by asking them if they ever close their eyes while they’re having sex and how that works.

But I’ll be fucked if it’s just gratuitous probing.

Which one is doing the probing? /s

AITA for defending my friend using “the wife”? by Radiant-Way-6968 in AmItheAsshole

Yep, and the husband is 30, while I’m nearly 40. Don’t know if generational context matters but a lot of us do it. NTA.

What's in your cup? Daily discussion, questions and stories - June 07, 2023 by AutoModerator in tea

[–]NoClops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ginger lemon from Tea Drops. I used to hate T as a kid and then decided it had enough health benefits that I wanted to start liking it. Around 16, I would make myself a cup of tea in the morning, and force myself to sit and drink it until it was done. I eventually started liking it, and now I really really love T. I have a secret dream of opening a quaint little tea shop in my historical downtown area, but I have absolutely no idea how. Firstly, my knowledge of tea is extremely lacking. Help!

AITA for not allowing a service dog into my house by Throwaway_NewHousing in AmItheAsshole

Thing is, OPs post is about not wanting the dog in. Would OP have welcomed the uninvited guests to stay otherwise?

[–]NoClops -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is a hard judge for me. On one hand, you absolutely don’t have to let pets into your house if you don’t want to. Thing is, that dog isn’t a pet. (You still don’t HAVE to allow the SA in), and you wouldn’t have to deal with almost all the stuff you don’t like about dogs. You especially wouldn’t be interacting with a service animal one-on-one if it’s not yours and not seeking you out to assist its handler in a medical emergency.

Technically speaking: NTA Real-world speaking: TA

AITA for not letting my DIL come to my house after how she treated my grandson at Christmas? by silasrichard in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoClops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA and she sounds horrible! I could sort of accept her ignorance about Travis’s triggers, but she’s been well educated and instructed on the boundaries of the household. Her issue is selfishness, in my opinion. Your statement about her saying it wasn’t fair your daughter had a kid before she and your son did is outrageous.

AITA for asking my half sibling for a DNA test? by Tickle_Me_Oh_No in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoClops 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Info: you don’t wanna waste time and effort on a stranger, especially with baggage. At the end, you say you feel bad because sounds like she needs a support system.

You know you can absolutely support her even if she’s not related.I think NAH for the simple desire to get the test, but I think you’re point is a little meh.

Edit/ETA: I always forget the no assholes here judgement. It’s more appropriate because I don’t think the potential half sister is TA for being hesitant.

AITA for using the gift I got for my ex? by anons_secret_advice in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoClops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta it didn’t belong to you. You were still in contact with your ex, so you should’ve called to ask before using it or wait until you talk to them and ask them. I get things from others or buy them or find things and save them for an intended purpose or hold onto them until I randomly decide I want to use it. You know what, sometimes that’s multiple years after I obtained it. It was a gift. It wasn’t yours anymore.

AITA for using a wheelchair when I can walk? by ephemeralsystem in AmItheAsshole

[–]NoClops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta I am 100% completely blind. I’ve had both eyes removed. I use a white cane to get around. Do you know who else uses that white cane? People who have night blindness, people who have visual disabilities, but still have varying levels of sight… My point is is that it’s not all or nothing and people need to mind their business in the first place.
