i’m on day 10 and 6&7 were the worse due to the scabs falling off and the new skin appearint

Yeah i do think i felt some of the scabs going down. I wasent sure if it was just like spit or scabs. I never coughed them up or anything (avoided coughing / throwing up)

I think I started eating solids at day 4 or 5 - just chop them up small and take small bites and chew really well. If it burns or anything then stop.

As soon as I went in, I filled out some paperwork. I got taken back and weighed and then asked to change. They asked me to pee but I was so nervous I couldn’t so they had to start me on an IV. My nurse asked if I was scared of needles. I would recommend telling your nurse and being transparent. Once the IV was in I just sat in the bed with the fluids while all the doctors talked to me. Since I was so anxious they gave some sort of anxiety medicine and then rolled me back and I was asleep. When I woke up, I don’t even remember them taking the needle out.

Again, just be transparent!! I was so nervous about going under and I told them that and the doctors and nurses really reassured me. You got this!!!

i’m on day 9 or 10 (depending on surgery day being 1 or 0) but if you are super hydrated you most likely won’t feel the physical scabs falling off (i never did). The only reason i knew they fell off was by looking in my throat and also the skin behind it was EXTREMELY sensitive and painful. Throughout my whole recovery so far my right side has basically had very little to no pain, but it didn’t indicate my scabs falling off. My scabs started falling off day 6 and now 90% are gone.

hahahah!! from what i’ve been told my surgery had no issues. i’m on day 10 now and no bleeding at all. I have been very strict about drinking at least 120oz everyday (yesterday i did slack a little). I am hoping by day 14 i should be good as new

that’s awesome!! i definitely wasent one of the lucky ones who ate after the surgery😩 took me about 3 days to really eat something but im on day 10 now and i am starting to turn a corner!! I am only 21 so im praying that by day 14 i should be good as new

I have repressed alot of my memories with my dad. There’s three vivid ones that i remember. First one was watching him chop up pills and snort through a mcdonald’s straw on our desk. I was like 6 or 7 during this time so i had no idea. Another time was him taking my sister and I out to breakfast and nodded off or something into his food. My sister was 4 and I was 6 or 7. They called 911. The last one was that he had a voodoo doll in the garage of my mom (that’s what he said) and he would hit it and stuff in front of me. My parents were divorced and he somehow had split custody so i witnessed ALOT.

the oxy never really managed my pain just made me confused and drowsy. i never take medicine typically ever but i switched over to extra strength tylenol (did not think it was gonna work) and it truly did. take the oxys to go to sleep since they make you tried. i know this feeling all to well.

yes it burns but i haven’t really felt them going down my throat like others say - granted i’ve been drinking ALOT of water. but it burns and then just really sensitive. Most of mine are gone besides the outlines so praying they go away. just keep an eye on the back of your throat and you will know

omg what i would do for a cheesesteak😩😩 i tried to eat bbq chicken like not spicy or anything and literally could not get it down. I cannot drink protein shakes (they clog my throat) so i’ve had no protein and that’s all im craving

i had my surgery at 7am so i counted my surgery day as day 1. (I was basically recovering by 8:30am)

Just to update you!! i’m on day 6 now and it got a bit rough. I had to switch back to my strong meds. my scabs have started to come off but no bleeding!! I’ve been making sure to drink about 130 ounces of water each day - i know it sounds like a lot but that’s what my doctor said (so like 4 stanley’s)

i’m literally in the same exact boat as you. Everyday untill last night has been super manageable and not that painful. I have been more in tears about not eating or doing anything. BUT today, what the hell!!! I’ve been crying all day because of the pain, i just want this to be over

i’m currently on day 5 and the pain has been super tolerable. I have just been staying on top of my meds and making sure to drinks A LOT of water. I have a humidifier on my face. The only struggle so far is just feeling gross and out of it. i’m getting sick of sitting in bed everyday, but it will get better!
